Is the extra large big enough for a small rabbit?

Can a hamster use it
Answer by ChewyJul 04, 2018
We wouldn't recommend this Guinea Pig home for a pet hamster or rat, they're known to be sensitive to pine.

What type of wood is this house made from? If its pine, is it kiln dried?
Answer by ChewyAug 31, 2017

Chinnie loves it!

My chinchilla has been spending a good deal of the day sleeping in this hut and she also likes to sit on top of it. It is proving durable.

Large hideout

I got the XL for my two guinea pigs and they can both fit their fat butts into it at the same time. Unfortunately they ignore it while it's actually in their cage and only use it in the temp cage when it's cage cleaning day. I'm sure less picky pocket pets would enjoy it more

NOT X-LARGE

This is not rabbit friendly. My girls could not fit in this and they are only 6 pounds.

Just Right for Rats

Ordered the XL size because I wasn't paying too much attention, but it ended up working out perfectly. For three rats, XL is too big, BUT the height is perfect. There's about an inch of clearance between the roof of this hide and the upper floors of the cage I use. The rats absolutely love sleeping in that space when its warm.

Well Made

Sturdy, but maybe too small for our 1yo dwarf-rex mix. They like to sit on it, though, so it worked out.

Gerbils love this

My 3 gerbils love this house to sleep in! They chew on this but it's very thick and does last a few months even with three gerbils chewing on it.

Round door is for a hamster

Originally purchased through chewy in 2019. Those were perfect. This new one, even though the picture shows the one I got in 2019, is different. The round hole is only suitable for a hamster! Do not but the xlarge for a guinea pig or rabbit! On the left is the one I just received. The right is the one I received in 2019 and is shown on the sale page.

hamster hideout

I ordered this hide out and I love it ,it had some wooden bits sticking out but I just sanded them off I would recommend this but I would coat it in a mod podge so it doesn’t absorb pee

Piggies love it

We got the xl for our two guinea pigs. They love hiding in it. They will also reach up to the top level when we put hay up there
