They cut well but there is a bit of resistance and they are brand new. The finger position in the handling changes due to the effort to cut smoothly and starts to hurt fingers. I have a feeling they will remain cutting like this a long time and I will adjust to the finger holes in the handling so good enough for the price. Difficult poodle hair
