Feeding Instructions
Home Fresh Sunny Mealworm is designed to be fed as a treat. It is not fortified and should not replace a bird’s regular complete feed. For complete feed options, check out Kent Nutrition Group’s complete line of Home Fresh poultry feeds. Also a great treat option for wild birds. Provide clean, fresh water at all times. Do not feed this product if it is believed to be unfit for animal consumption.
We recommend in most cases, you slowly transition your animal when changing to a Kent/Blue Seal product or even between Kent/Blue Seal products. This allows the animal's digestive tract to properly adjust to the feed. To help with the transition, we recommend slowly mixing the new Kent/Blue Seal product in with your current feed and then gradually increase over the course of one week to 100% of the new Kent/Blue Seal product.

This product is super convenient and gives birds a longer lasting treat - perfect for when the weather is bad and they are stuck in their pen. I used it on a snow day and it was ideal. At first the birds (chickens and ducks) weren't sure what to make of it as they are used to their treats being loose, but I was able to break a few smalls pieces off to get them interested (it has this stiff nougat your texture that is possible to break into smaller blocks). We are not allowing wild birds to mix with ours during the uncertainty with avian flu, but it looks like a product that would interest them too. Another nice thing about this product - it contains worms, but doesn't have that awful wormy smell!

I presented the Kent/Blue Seal Home Fresh Sunny Mealworm Premium Poultry Treat Bar to my 13 hens on a sunny cool and clear afternoon. They walked right past it at first. They didn't recognize it as food. I broke off a small portion and crumbled it up around the block to attract them. One hen tested the crumbles slowly, then wandered away. It took about 1/2 hour for the majority of the flock to try pecking at the block. It didn't become irresistible to them. It generated modest interest. It will be eaten completely at some point. Overall, it is a clean product that is easy to handle. The chickens slowly consume it which makes it a treat that lasts awhile for them.

It was composed of shelled sunflower seeds and mealworms, both a flock favorite! It didn’t take them long to devour the entire treat! I definitely think it was a good value for the price, and would purchase for my chickens.

I tried different times to get her to try it, breaking off small portions & she didn't touch it. However the fish in the pond loved this treat. I have bass & bluegill in the pond. The packaging is cute too.

My chickens really enjoyed this treat and so did I! I love that it's in a block that is somewhat stuck together. It made it so that it wasn't downed or scratched

I have 10 chickens and 4 ducks and this actually lasted about 3 days. I'm not sure if the ducks touched it at all but the chickens definitely liked it. It took them a minute to realize what it was cuz I've never used a block treat with them before. I just put it in a feed dish to keep it clean. I think it would also be fun to hang it up for them on a string!

All of our hens loved this product. We did notice they never went back to it though after the 1st day which we thought was odd. Could have just been a fluke thing

Excellent High Protien Treat!
I have eight hens and they love their treats. Because this block of seeds and meal worms, at 1.6 lbs, is more than I'd give them at one time, I broke it in half
I have eight hens and they love their treats. Because this block of seeds and meal worms, at 1.6 lbs, is more than I'd give them at one time, I broke it in half and used it for two treats. A couple of hens jumped right in and started pecking and soon everyone wanted a bite. I really like that it's 18 percent protein. My hens live in a cold climate and I make sure they get plenty of protein.

I bought this as a treat for my chickens during the winter. They loved it! I will be buying again. It is big enough that it lasted my nine chickens quite a while
