Picky eater approved

My picky EMS mare loves this. I use it as a topper and she’s finally cleaning up her meds/supplements. Delivery by chewy is super convenient.

Great Grain for Young Horses

I put my OTTB on this grain when he first came to me. What a difference it has made in his coat and building muscle while growing like crazy. Highly recommend.

A tasty grain choice for Cushings horses

I actually first tried this product through the Pawsibilities program where it was an offer to try and review. My senior Cushings gelding hated taking his medication

I actually first tried this product through the Pawsibilities program where it was an offer to try and review. My senior Cushings gelding hated taking his medication (Prascend) so I thought this might be good to y the pill. Not only did he love it and took his pill without any issue, after examination and discussion with my equine vet and equine nutritionist, we thought it could be a more delicious low-sugar, low-starch substitute for the tasteless low-sugar, low-starch grain he was being fed and totally ignoring. So I transitioned him to this feed and now he actually looks forward to getting his grain and eats it all at once rather than picking at it and ultimately leaving most of it.

My Senior Cushing's Horse Favorite Grain & Treat!

I've been feeding this product to my senior Cushing's Appaloosa gelding for about 2 months as a supplement mixed into his low-starch, low-sugar Purina WellSolve

I've been feeding this product to my senior Cushing's Appaloosa gelding for about 2 months as a supplement mixed into his low-starch, low-sugar Purina WellSolve L/S grain. He doesn't care much for the WellSolve alone and barely eats any of it. I wanted to add flavor/interest to it without adding sugar or starch. And I didn't want to cause any stomach/gastro problems from anything too rich. So I began mixing in just 1-2 cups of the Keyflow to his grain. That's been enough to get him to eat ALL his grain. He absolutely loves the Keyflow and thinks of it more like a treat. When he sees me opening the bag, adding, he literally nickers and comes trotting over! I also use it as a treat (a handful of it) since he enjoys it as much as any of the low-sugar/low-starch apple treats I give him. It's a wonderful, tasty grain and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to lower their horse's sugar and starch intake or anyone whose horse has a sensitive stomach.

Allergy Friendly!

My horse has severe food allergies and I was excited to try this grain for him because it is very allergy friendly. It’s not pelleted like we’re used to, instead it’s whole shredded ingredients, but he seemed to really like it. He had no allergic reaction which was a plus, however, the 30# bag is a bummer as we’d have to order so much more than usual and really can’t justify the higher price point for so much less product. I could see potentially adding this in as additional supplement to his current diet.

Very different Feed option

At first glance this grain resembles bunny or hamster food. There are pieces of hay, crushed pellets, regular pellets, and little biscuit like wafers. The quality looks to be great and it smelled delicious. But very different from your traditional horse feed. The smaller bag at 30lbs leaves you feeling like you’re not getting much bang for your buck. However, it is much lighter to move around which could be a plus. Horse loved it, although I can’t say I’ve seen a huge difference in coat quality from our regular feed. Seems kind of pricey as well, but it is being shitin from the UK.

Lw Sugar Low Starch diet

I own an old Donkey with Cushings. It's hard to get her to eat much of anything except hay and she LOVES this!

Good for Supplementing a Senior

I fed this to a senior mare who has some metabolic issues and can become laminitic if her diet is not well controlled. However she needs more than just Bermuda hay

I fed this to a senior mare who has some metabolic issues and can become laminitic if her diet is not well controlled. However she needs more than just Bermuda hay to maintain weight and topline. This food was highly palatable to her and as she only receives 1/2 lb daily there hasn’t been any metabolic upset. I have seen an improvement in weight and feed utilization of the hay, and her coat seems to be a bit shinier. Overall, for the needs of this mare it is working well.
