How do you keep chickens from chewing/pecking the cord?

Generally, chickens would peck at anything. Some chickens might leave the cord alone, while others might peck at it. One option to hide the cord is running it through a PVC pipe.

Is there a convenient way to hang the waterer? I have found keeping the waterer above ground level keeps the birds from getting dirt in the water

This waterer was designed to be used on a hard level surface. For safety purposes, we do not recommend hanging this product.

How warm does the water get?

This heated waterer uses only 60 watts and keeps the water from freezing and also features a thermostat control that turns on and off as needed to keep the water from freezing.

better than some but could use improvement

I was really excited about this waterer. I thought it would take care of some of the issues I had with my old one. Pros- plastic is stronger than others. Cons-

I was really excited about this waterer. I thought it would take care of some of the issues I had with my old one. Pros- plastic is stronger than others. Cons- the shape- since it isn't flat you need to hold the jug the whole time it fills. I thought the cleaner tray would be so handy. It isn't. It does do the job but not sure it warrants the price. I hope it stands the test of a few winters.

I had an older version of this waterer that worked really well, but I left it with my chickens when we sold our home to our son, which included the chickens. I had to start my flock over at my new home. Since I’d had a good experience with my other waterer I decided to give it another go. I’m so disappointed with this new one. The plug for the cap was broken right out of the box. I contacted K & M directly and after sending photos of my receipt, the shipping box, etc. they did send me a couple of caps for replacement. Once I filled the water tank and inverted it onto the base I found that now the water will not disperse into the base. If I lift on the tank or push on the top water will run out but not without aid. It seems like this unit may have been exposed to extremely high temperatures during storage and possibly warped the tank enough to ruin it. I’ve tried pouring hot water into it to see if it will return to its original form, but so far nothing seems to work. This is very frustrating to say the least! My hubby discarded the packaging so I’m pretty sure I can’t return it. What a waste! I won’t be buying another one.

Biggest issue issue it's not spillproof. The cap on the bottom came cross treated and will not seat properly on the jug. Just annoying as all get out to spend that

$80 of frustration

it keeps Water from freezing and the plastic Water chamber is not flimsy but it is bulky and awkward to the point where i get so frustrated that i can not deal with
