Description

Give your chickens a clean supply of drinking water with the K&H Pet Products Heated Thermo-Poultry Waterer. The ingenious design covers it all, starting with a 60-watt heater to keep water ice-free in colder temperatures. It also features a brilliant shape that eliminates roosting and the dirty water that comes with it, plus an easy-carry reservoir handle and spill-proof cap. The water filter ring allows you to clean the water tray in seconds—no draining needed, just remove the filter tray and lightly tap to remove debris. It can be easily refilled without spilling or needing to empty the entire waterer, and the rust-proof construction offers years of use.

Key Benefits

  • Ingenious shape eliminates roosting and the dirty water that comes with it plus an easy-carry handle.
  • Economical 60-watt heater keeps water ice-free in cold weather and has been tested in sub-zero temperatures.
  • Easy-flow, BPA-free design fills the tray gently and eliminates the muddy mess from half the water spilling over during refill.
  • Removable water filter allows you to clean the tray in seconds by tapping to remove the debris. No draining needed!
  • Spill-proof tank cap means no more spilling out half the tank trying to assemble it into the base.

†Capacity is calculated by total volume. When using container, choose a capacity greater than what you need to prevent overfilling and spills.

  • You and your chickens will love this wterer in bitter cold weather

    By on

The greatest thing is that the heating and drinking unit stays put during a refill. Barely a dribble when removing the tank for refill. Not a drop when setting the full tank in place. I found it tricky to get it to stand for filling because of the pointy top, but I found a cook pot that held it almost erect. Didn't mind taking my time to fill from half-full water jugs. Big deal. The chickens didn't have to put up with the big door opening on a freezing morning for me to pull out a frozen waterer. For nine adults, this lasted a week. LOVE IT.

  • Not a bad purchase

Pros: this unit keeps the water in the resevoir mostly ice free down to -20* when protected from the wind, the resevoir is a nice width, the tank holds enough water to keep our flock of 9 hydrated for about 3 days, the lift out filter is handy to remove pine shavings & bigger debris from the reservoir. Cons: in the extreme cold the water in the tank freezes well before the chickens can drink it which leaves only the water in the reservoir mostly ice-free (which kind of defeats the purpose), with the filter in the reservoir the water seemed to freeze more quickly, the mouth of the tank is extremely small so it was very difficult to remove the ice as well as clean. While this unit has drawbacks, it worked better than using a heated base (which we returned) with our regular 5 qt waterer in the extreme cold. We covered the water tank with a soft-side cooler which provides a bit more protection from the elements and has kept the water from freezing at 0*. Ultimately, I would purchase again, just wish they would make the mouth bigger and figure out how to insulate the tank. But it’s the best I’ve found thus far. … more

  • LOVE THIS!

I really do love this item. I bought 2 of them. However, for my situation, there are pros and cons. The pro is that it keeps the water from freezing. That is extremely important. And the con is that it's so large that it takes up a lot of space in the large dog crate that I have my chicks in (2 crates). Another con is that one of them seems to be leaking which I have to address (the other is working perfectly). Additionally, the chicks still poo in it and that isn't filtered as the water dilutes it and it gets into their water (so did the other waterer that I had). It's much harder for me to pull it out of the crate to clean. Still, this is a great premise for a product. Not sure I really do love this item. I bought 2 of them. Even after the chicks are grown it will work well with the adult chickens. … more

  • Happy Quackers

    By on

We bought this for our pair of ducks. Our original water container always froze up and we were looking for a heated alternative. After reading reviews of other items, we selected this one and couldn't be happier. Easy to use, not messy and keeps the water from freezing up. Most of all the Quackers are happy :-) They do drink a lot and we have to refill every day.

  • great product

This waterer is great! It arrived just in time for the deep freeze we had and our girls had water at all times! The easy carry design is very good, too, since I have to fill it in the house, it's nice not to have to bring in the dirty part! On the very coldest windy day there was a little bit of ice, but the hens were still able to get to the water!

Absolutely the best purchase I have made recently. So easy to clean and my girls always have water no matter the temp. Even when wind chill was 8 to 10 below zero it didn't freeze. And easy to fill and carry without spilling.

  • Grandson loves this

We bought this for our 11 year old grandson who has about 15 chickens. He was thrilled to receive it. Since Christmas we have had very cold nights (down to 0 degrees at night) and it has worked fine.

  • Heated Waterer

Very pleased with my thermal waterer. I am using it for 15 chickens, and it’ll last about a day and a half. Easy enough for a female to carry, and I love that you can just set it on the base and not have to line it up with anything. Nice feature with the pop out plug.

  • Great product!

This waterer was a lifesaver! We were hit with a very extreme cold snap and were bringing water out to the chickens 2-3 times a day. Don't have to now; the large capacity is great and no more frozen water!

  • Not Only for Chickens

I’m using this for as a water source for birds in the freezing weather: When the temp got to 5 degrees the top of the water froze but other wise it has worked great.
