I bought this window seat because I recently added two more cats to my family to a total of four. I wanted to give them a perch in the sun and I was impressed by the fact this window seat could hold up to 40 pounds. My heaviest cat probably weighs around 15 and the newest members of our family are only about seven months old. I read previous reviews and I found the suggestion of using wider Velcro strips for the windowsill and the seat to be very helpful. I did do just that and with the supports underneath that rest against the wall this seat isn’t moving anywhere. All the cats have enjoyed it and with the orthopedic cushion underneath the mat it’s very soft. It’s wide enough for them to lay comfortably and spread out. The directions were so easy to follow and I did let the Velcro sit on the windowsill for 24 hours and the accompanying piece on the window seat for 24 hours before I placed them together. That was in the instructions more than once to help the strips seal properly before weight is added. I easily give it five stars and I would purchase it again.

After having bought one of these a year ago and with my cats fighting over who gets to rest on it I bought two more! Now with three sills and three cats I am all set! Easy to install, very sturdy, and easy to clean, I highly recommend this kitty sill!

We put it in a south facing window for the sunshine, but they use it even on cloudy days. It was easy to install & it seems sturdy enough for our 15+ pound cat.
