Can i set the temperature? Can i set hours to be on?

Answer by HillaryJan 28, 2023
TL;DR: No, you can't set the temperature. No, you can't set hours to be on, but you can use a separate timer plug to achieve the same thing. From another website's description: "It uses an internal thermostat to keep the temperature at a desirable 102 when the pet lies upon the heated pad; and will remain 10-15 degrees above ambient air temperature when your pet is not on the bed." From my experience with owning four of them: The bed will barely feel warm if unoccupied, but if anything is covering it (pet, blanket), it will get toasty. My indoor cats love these, and my outdoor cat sleeps on one in a cardboard box in the garage all winter. There is no integrated timer, but I've successfully used these with wifi plugs set to a schedule (FEIT and Alexa types). A cheap rotary timer plug would work, too. I can recommend these from several years of use. Hope this helps!

Can this heating pad remain plugged in for a week?

Answer by ChewyDec 21, 2018
You should always unplug the K&H Pet Products Lectro-Soft Outdoor Heated Pet Bed from the outlet when not in use.

Can a blanket/pad be placed under the heated pad? Can the heated pad be placed inside a igloo type house?

Answer by ChewyNov 17, 2018
It's recommended to place the Lectro-Soft directly on a hard, flat surface in your home, garage, porch, kennel or pet house and should not be covered with blanket, or pad.

Does this pad need to be flat? The house we have it a bit smaller. Can part of it curve up the side as long as it’s not folded?

Answer by ChewyJan 01, 2018
For accurate heating results, it's recommended this heated pad lay flat.

Have now purchased two of these, for two of my cats. And neither one leaves them empty for more than an hour at a time. They are ridiculously happy and relaxed with these, and I’m happy knowing that they’re safe for both kitty and my house (or as safe as you can get for something that stays plugged in). Do not hesitate to buy one for your cat, especially if you have an older cat!

The outdoor cat seemed very content and happy with this product. My only complaint is that the cord is about 5 feet long which drastically limits location for use as it states that extension cords may be hazardous with this product. I wanted to use this under my back deck for the other strays, but no outlet under there. :(

I can't believe none of the other reviews mention how weird this thing is. I was expecting something akin to a heated blanket but with waterproof material. This device is inflatable- it's like an air mattress, and then I guess there are heating coils inside. The cable is covered with a spiral wire to prevent chewing. I bought this for my (indoor) elderly dog who has been cold the past few weeks. He has some continence issues overnight so I wanted something waterproof. Since he also has achy joints, he also needs a soft bed (we got him an orthopedic memory foam style one.) Compared to the Ortho bed, this inflatable pad is... Well, imagine making your 93 year old grandmother sleep on an air mattress. My boy wasn't having it. I actually ended up giving him a standard electric blanket and he absolutely loves it. Will is last? Who can say. He hasn't chewed or even had any accidents, and I'm careful to make sure it is draped over him and not under, but the electric blanket is much more bang for my buck than this air pad. The pad doesn't even get that warm, but to be fair it does say that the animal needs to actively be on it for it to work best. Not sure how that would impact it, but either way, this item is getting returned.

The package arrived very damaged, and appears to have been previously opened, but the bed seems to be working ok as of now. I have two large cats that were trying to share the small size version of this bed, so I decided to buy the large bed. It is definitely big enough for both my boys.

My son married a woman from Puerto Rico. She brought her Great Dane here to NC and he is always shivering. I needed a large dog warming pad to fit a 110 pound dog. I like that it has a washable cover and a bite proof cord. It can be outdoors (or inside) without concern for the weather. Malou loves it (as you can see in the pictures)!! The pad was in the washer at the time of the picture but the dog doesn’t care lol. I would highly recommend this product

I have used these warming pads for several years - to the point that the cover developed holes! I have one under a water-protected chair under a high table for a cozy hideout and another on a chair under a covered porch. She must like them since I find her in one place or the other when the weather turns chilly. I think K&H products are superior to others I have purchased and will continue to order them from Chewy!

It is hardly warm at all. Not like the ones I purchased in the past of this model. I can't use it for my feral cat in her shelter. And for the price of this, we are getting taken. This is either defective or now they make these cheaper. I have to purchase another pad with a different company. I am going to warn others and put up a review on this company. This is not your fault.

I ordered the Large heated bed and it came quickly after first being told it was out of stock. They corrected that. The bed is perfect for my outdoor screened in porch kitties. They took to it immediately. All of my kitty items are K&H because of their MET or UL safety. I have this large bed, another large with a bolster around it, 2 triangle (teepee) beds, and the heated large 2 bowl food/water item. All of it will be used, especially tonight when we are expecting a low of 25 degrees!
