FAQ
How do I remove the Pet Bed Warmer?
There is a zipper located in the cushion. Simply unzip that and pull the heater out. To find the zipper pull, take your finger and gently poke it through the bed where the cord comes out of the bed. Now look on the other side to see where your finger is poking through. That is where the zipper pull will be located.
How long is the cord?
The cord is 5.5 feet long.
What temperature will this bed reach?
The surface of the bed will be about 15°F above ambient air temperature until the pet lies on the bed. Then it will warm to about 102°F, which is the natural body temperature of dogs and cats.
Is this heated bed pressure sensitive?
This bed is not pressure sensitive. All K&H heated beds and pads feature dual thermostats and are designed to warm to your pet's normal body temperature when he/she lies on the pad. This is a function of the insulation provided by a pet’s body, not the weight of the pet.K&H beds and pads will emit heat anytime they are plugged in so your pet can sense that heat and be drawn to the bed or pad for warmth and comfort. When your pet is not on the pad, the heat will dissipate into the air and the surface temperature will vary according to the ambient air temperature.
Can I use an extension cord with this product?
MET requires that all manufacturers put the extension cord statement “Do not use with extension cord” on every item that is MET listed by UL 499 standards. This is because they cannot test every extension cord on the market in conjunction with our products for safety. Also, MET suggests that an extension cord is not recommended as a permanent fixture and should only be a temporary solution when using any electrical product.
How long can a heated bed be plugged in?
MET Safety Laboratories suggests unplugging the bed if you leave your home on an extended vacation, as they do with any electrical appliance. Otherwise, it is designed for 24/7 operation and you can leave it plugged in all day. This item has been certified by MET labs to adhere to strict electrical safety standards.
Is there an off/on switch?
There is not an off/on switch. The pad is always on when plugged in.

Is it safe to have the bed plugged in and heating all the time?
Answer by • Dec 13, 2017
This bed may be plugged in as needed. MET Safety Laboratories suggests unplugging the bed if you leave your home on an extended vacation, as they do with any electrical appliance. Otherwise, it is designed for 24/7 operation and you can leave it plugged in all day or night.
Question for the manufacturer: What do you mean by 'dual thermostat'? From reading, you consider 'dual' to mean on & off.
Answer by • Dec 24, 2018
The dual thermostat allows the surface of the bed to be about 15°F above ambient air temperature until the pet lies on the bed. Then it will warm to about 102°F, which is the natural body temperature of dogs and cats.
Does this bed turn off when the cat exits?
Answer by • Oct 12, 2017
This bed will only turn off when unplugged.
Is the cover of the bed removable for washing?
Answer by • Jan 03, 2019
The foam ring and heating pad can be removed so the bed can be washed. For full instructions on how to wash this bed please review the Instructions Tab.
We received this bed Sunday. It took Bentley, my CKD kitty to figure out that it was better than his other beds. Healey, my SCL kitty soon learned about it as well. So far, Healey still sits on my lap and Bentley climbs into bed with dad. My only complaint is that the ay it was packed has it misshapen. They don't care however. It has a very padded bottom, and is just very mildly warm. I don't know how long it will last or launder.

They both love these!
Bought one for each of our two 11-year-old kitties after learning one has arthritis in his spine. They both love sleeping in these and pretty much ignore their unheated beds now. That might change when the weather gets warmer, but for now they are loving these beds!
BTW, one small bed fits one 10-pound cat very nicely.

My old kitties love it
I have two cats, 7 and 14 years old and live in a cold climate. My cats LOVE this bed it's warm and padded and a very good size. The older one almost never leaves it, the heat eases his arthritis. It produces just enough heat to keep them cozy but not so much that I worry about the heat on my couch. They hardly sit in my lap anymore, the bed is their favorite. Highly recommend for any cat who likes heating pads.

Instant hit!
Read about this in a social media cat group. All positive. Ordered immediately. Can’t say enough good things. Live in the mountains of Colorado and some rooms are not as heated as others while I’m at work. They took to it the first night. The grey and white one claims it as his territory though. I miss him sleeping with me as often, but I’m glad he’s happy. I bought the large size. They both weigh 15 lbs for reference of size.

Very cozy for my little queen
My cat is more lazy than ever thanks to this bed. She rarely wants to get up out of her warm cozy place in the bed, which is of course very relatable. So I guess don't get this bed if you want your kitty to be very fit and active during the winter, but do get it if you want to give your little royal the pampered comfort they deserve. My one complaint is that the cord is very short so it has to be near an outlet or plugged into an extension cord.

Cat is Obsessed
My older cat often gets chilly during our midwestern winter and would often climb under the blankets with us. He is absolutely obsessed with this heated bed! I do get less snuggles because of it at night, but I am happy he loves it and is staying nice and warm.

It's a hit!
Cat parents know that sometimes a new accessory is met with indifference, but this one is a hit! I plugged it in, then set a couple of books into it to make it heat up to its proper temperature. I put her in it, and that was all I needed to do---she loves it! I find her in it a lot, even though she has plenty of other sleeping places. It's well made. I did put a thin baby blanket on top of the cushion so it won't get all covered in cat hair. The cord length is adequate. The only recommendation I would make is for the cushion to be made so it's separate from the rest of the bed so it would be easier to wash.

Perfect Bed
Our 13 yr old cat, Millie Meow Meow, loves this bed. We've had other beds for her, mostly heated ones for Montana winters, but this is the very best one. It is deep, the pillow is very soft, and the stronger heat helps her arthritis. Wish they made these people size!

Perfect for kitties that are cold
We moved to a colder climate, and my cat was cold all the time even with the heat on constantly. He goes in there a lot and can sink down and get snug. The heat isn't too hot for him either, but it's just one temperature, so when it's plugged in takes about 20 mins to heat up. I suggest putting a blanket underneath because it does get much heat under there. All in all I'm really happy with it and so is my kitty, especially elder kitties.

Life changer
Our older cat who’s going to be 18 has had this bed for two years and just purchased another one for him!! This way he can have one downstairs and upstairs. It helps with his legs especially in the colder months and we can tell with hai walking since he now has two beds. Highly recommended and it’s safe!
