Pretty but cheap plastic

I used this crate for my 15lb dog without issues for a few months. During transport to my new apartment, the bottom ledge cracked and my dog has been able to sneak

I used this crate for my 15lb dog without issues for a few months. During transport to my new apartment, the bottom ledge cracked and my dog has been able to sneak out ever since. It is disappointing because I love the look of the crate and I do like that it is lightweight, but the plastic cracked way too easily. I was gentle during the transport and I'm not even sure how it cracked. It is too expensive to break so easily.

As others have said, the plastic is fragile. I guess it's hard to find the perfect balance between lightweight and collapsible and sturdy. I took it on a 3 day dog show weekend, and it was loved by my Phalene. He is well-mannered and crate trained. He made no attempt to break out. IF your dog is not crate trained, or does like to chew on plastic, this crate may be too fragile for you. As for the door; you lift up the handle and slide the little metal knob into the groove, then slide the handle back down.

Bought this for my 12 lb shih-tzu to help her feel safe as we transitioned into our new apartment. A little difficult to install and you can very easily break a piece with one wrong move as the plastic is thin. The door is unable to close all the way and lock it, and we're afraid to force it in in the case we won't be able to open it again. Chewy was gracious enough to offer a replacement, but it's just been too hard for us to pack it into a box to return it. So we're keeping the crate as a little alcove for the pup without use of the door or collapsable mechanism.

flimsy and plastic breaks off

I have 4 dogs so I bought 4 of these. Looks great. However that's all the pros there are. After a 2 weeks of use, i noticed the bottom of 2 crates were cracked

I have 4 dogs so I bought 4 of these. Looks great. However that's all the pros there are. After a 2 weeks of use, i noticed the bottom of 2 crates were cracked. Upon removing the beds for deep cleaning of all 4 crates, i found a bunch of plastic broken off inside. Safety hazard if pup ends up ingesting it.
