Bought two crates for my mini dachshunds and love them. They're the perfect size and easy to clean/put together. As noted in other reviews, only thing that would make this crate better is if they added a handle to the top so it's easier to lift/carry.
I used this crate for my 15lb dog without issues for a few months. During transport to my new apartment, the bottom ledge cracked and my dog has been able to sneak out ever since. It is disappointing because I love the look of the crate and I do like that it is lightweight, but the plastic cracked way too easily. I was gentle during the transport and I'm not even sure how it cracked. It is too expensive to break so easily.
As others have said, the plastic is fragile. I guess it's hard to find the perfect balance between lightweight and collapsible and sturdy. I took it on a 3 day dog show weekend, and it was loved by my Phalene. He is well-mannered and crate trained. He made no attempt to break out. IF your dog is not crate trained, or does like to chew on plastic, this crate may be too fragile for you. As for the door; you lift up the handle and slide the little metal knob into the groove, then slide the handle back down.
My dog loves being in his crate and takes his nap there all the time. Not only is it beautiful but it’s a comfortable resting spot for our little fur babies.
Bought this for my 12 lb shih-tzu to help her feel safe as we transitioned into our new apartment. A little difficult to install and you can very easily break a piece with one wrong move as the plastic is thin. The door is unable to close all the way and lock it, and we're afraid to force it in in the case we won't be able to open it again. Chewy was gracious enough to offer a replacement, but it's just been too hard for us to pack it into a box to return it. So we're keeping the crate as a little alcove for the pup without use of the door or collapsable mechanism.
I LOVE this pet crate!! I hated the black metal one that looked like a jail cell. So glad I found this! The crate is designed so beautifully and I love that it's collapsible. It matches my interior of my living room and I travel often and now Mylo has a place where he feels safe and comfortable wherever we go. I loved it so much I got one for the bedroom in sage. Very happy with this purchase!
I received this for Christmas and it's been incredible for my little cat. Initially, it was for my new puppy but my cat likes it so much that I am going to have to get a second one. It's collapsible and compact. I also use it to transport my cat, even though it's not meant to be a carrier, it works for me. And the colors are great options. Very happy with this clever little box.
We have had this crate for a few months now. Our 10 lb chihuahua loves this and will go into it at night to sleep on his own. The packable design is great and we have already packed and rebuilt this multiple times without any issues. We bring this when we travel bc we have a little escape artist who freaks out if he’s in a soft crate and will get out and howl but if he’s in this crate he feels more at home and will just sleep. I feel more secure leaving him in here since I know he can’t get into anything bad while we’re gone! This crate would easily fit a slightly larger dog. There is a lot of room in there even after adding a bolster bed. Also love the look, goes well in the corner of our living room.
I felt like I had to review this KindTail Pawd crate - because I almost didn't order it due to some of the reviews on here saying it wasn't worth the pricetag. I beg to differ. It's a nifty little crate, packed well direct from the company. I did have a little trouble putting it together - I think the key is to lock in the back wall before you do the front entrance wall...and it all come together nicely. The design is clean, modern, and simple. My chihuahua has been going in and out of it all day. The company is really cool - this isn't some AliExpress job- it's a well thought out, beautifully designed crate your small dog will love - and you'll prolly love how it looks in YOUR crib. I think it's totally worth the money. If it's within your budget - go for it.
This crate is the perfect size for my 14 lb chihuahua mix. (My cat was very interested as well.) I bought this as a second crate for travel purposes, and it works great for the car. She loves curling up into the back of it and seems to feel a lot safer than when she is tethered to the seat belt. If you are also purchasing it for travel, I'd recommend letting your pup spend a few hours in it before you go, so they can get used to it. The collapsible feature is very nice too. My only criticism is that the plastic is a bit flimsy for the price, and it can take a while to get used to the way the door works.
