They All Like It - Great Ingredients!
Look at the ingredients in this....ONLY the good stuff! I tried this with beef broth on it, but they actually prefer it dry (luckily they are good water drinkers)
Look at the ingredients in this....ONLY the good stuff! I tried this with beef broth on it, but they actually prefer it dry (luckily they are good water drinkers). I like the texture and it also has some small chunks which you can break up, but I just leave as is. It looks rich and is very nutritious. All 3 Morkies have different tastes, and it changes daily. So, I don't follow protocol, and have small plates of their favorite foods out at all times so they can eat when they want. One likes to eat in the morning and evening, one throughout the day, and I have one who likes to eat at 2:00 a.m. when they go out for pee. Spoiled...I know, but they are the loves of my life. I always try to buy the best for them, and am happy that they like this one.

This is very high quality raw dog food (the ingredient list is impressive). But it is dehydrated (totally dry) and you have to re-hydrate it before giving it to the dogs. The benefit of that is that it doesn’t take up much space and it is very lightweight, but for me (especially me being a vegetarian) it was kind of gross when I added it to water and stirred it while it re-hydrated. It says 1:1 ratio of water to food but it was too soupy so I added more food. It took a while to re-hydrate too, so you can’t feed it to them quickly. After all that though, I have to say that the dogs LOVE it!!! I have 5 dogs and they ALL love it. I have an elderly Shih tzu who is super picky and barely likes anything, and she was crazy for this food. So I am torn, it grosses me out a bit, but it is worth it for the dogs. And it is super healthy (it has beef heart, beef liver, and other healthy ingredients.)

My dog is very sceptical of new food items but he absolutely loves this king lou raw food! There was not a drop left in his bowl. As an owner I appreciate the simple ingredients; only 9 but they are all healthy choices and human grade, how amazing is that! The food smells really delicious. I was little nervous it would be stinky but it honestly does smell delicious. I started off by giving my golden retriever boy just a quarter cup , to make the transition easy, just like the instructions on the bag suggested. He has not had any issues, no upset stomach, no loose poop, nothing. We are up to the full amount he is allowed to have and he seems to be thriving on this food. I am so happy we found this food. I feel like it has balanced out his gut and he has been less itchy, more solid poop and just overall a happier dog. I know those are not things this food is claiming to do but I have noticed such a difference in my dog that I do credit it to king lou. I would highly highly recommend getting this food!

First, let me say that I have very picky Morkies. Tried it with a bone broth first (as they suggest), and they ignored it. Waited a couple of days and then just put some on a small plate dry, and low and behold, all three of them ate some. One actually cleaned the plate first, so I had to put more on it so the rest could have some. Great idea as to how it is packaged - nothing else like it that I have ever tried. It is loose and mostly dry, but with some richness in ingredients...and I guess taste. Nothing like a freeze-dried food where you have to break it down (and sometimes hurt your hands in doing so) - you just scoop and serve. Has a texture that almost makes you think you could press it into patties or something. Boy, just reading the ingredients alone should give you enough reason to try this! Will definitely be purchasing again.

Upon opening the bag, the first thing I noticed is this absolutely stinks to me! But what I don't like isn't what the furkids think. I rehydrated some of this for the cats, as they eat raw food regularly, and they all ate it next to their normal raw food every time. I haven't noticed any litter box changes. I tried some rehydrated and some dry with the dog, and she liked it but her stomach isn't as adjusted to raw so she did get some minor GI upset even though it was a small bit compared to her daily intake. Unfortunately, my bag arrived without an expiration date, so I had to contact the company. They took almost a week to get back to me with a date that corresponding to the lot code that did properly print on the bag. I also asked about nutritionally complete for cats and dogs, and they told me to discuss that with my vet nutritionist... so while this is safe to eat for dogs and cats, it should be considered more of a treat (<10% their daily intake) than food unless you balance it, which is different for dogs and cats. This is one reason I asked the company directly about the food being a properly balanced diet. The other reason was the very simple ingredients-- which I love but I make a lot of their food and I know it's difficult to make a nutritionally complete food without supplements and/or a variety of ingredients more complicated than what is included in this. Also of note: *This is moist to me-- it says store in a cool, dry place but I tossed in the fridge so it doesn't spoil. *It has sunflower oil in it, why not leave the animal fat or add fish oil?? Or just none and let it be drier?

Since sometimes it’s hard to stop a dog from eating cat food and vice versa I love that this food is good for both dogs and cats. We all know how much better for us raw foods are so I like have raw options for my pets as well. If you read the ingredients there’s only 9 things and they’re all real food. It’s also easy to reconstitute and since my pets LOVE when they get wet food they thought it was an extra treat for them!
Healthy, Easy to Pronounce and Animals Love

When my doggo did get a chance to eat it, it was gone quick so I'm assuming she loved the taste. It didn't smell horrible like some raw foods do. It's easy to rehydrate and I love that it only has 9 ingredients, all which are pronoucable and I know what they are all. I also like that it doesn't have fillers like corn, I noticed my dog stinks alot when she has corn products.

We use this as a topping on my all of my dogs' kibble a few times a week for a special bonus. It does not have a weird smell, and they get excited when I open the bag. I just add about a tablespoon with a little bit of warm water and mix in their food. My puppers do not have any food allergies or get upset tummies to this. It is a bit too costly for me to have this as their main food, so I will stick with just using it as a topping for their dinner.

My only negative is that the freeze dried elements tend to have more "dust" than others and this has a ton of that "food dust". Not my favorite.
