When I received the Kismet Chicken & Barley Recipe Dog Food and Beef & Sweet Potato Nugs treats, we had both our dog and a friend's dog that we were babysitting for a week. Mine is a 3 year old 15 lb. mixed breed, and the visitor was a two year old 8 lb. mixed breed. They both got fed twice a day, once in the morning and once at dinner time. They had been eating a canned dog food prior to receiving this, so when I put it in their dish they sniffed it and seemed interested, but didn't eat it. I set it back out a couple of hours later and got the same response, so I decided to mix in a few chopped up pieces of leftover chicken from my dinner the night before, and they both gobbled their bowls right down. This pattern continued with every feeding. They would not eat the food by itself, but if I mixed in a small amount of chicken or turkey they would eat it. I tried adding just bone broth but they still wouldn't eat it unless it had a small amount of meat added to it. After a day or two I noticed that both of them had firmer stools, which was definitely a good thing. Also, it would be less expensive to feed them this food plus a small amount of a mixer than feed them a can of wet food every night. So I would say the food was good and the dogs responded positively to it, but it needed a little booster to get them to eat it. The Beef & Sweet Potato Nugs Treats were a different story entirely. As soon as I opened the bag, both dogs were all over me to get one! I got them to sit for their treats and they waited impatiently and practically took my fingers off when I handed them down! They didn't have any problems chewing or digesting these treats and they didn't get affected negatively in any way. The only thing I would say is that the bag of treats was very small. Dogs go through treats very quickly, particularly if you are training them or using them for walking rewards, so you could go through a bag of these in a week. I rationed them out, but both dogs got very excited when they heard me take the bag out of the cabinet. They were a definite hit!

My dogs couldn’t be happier! From the very first bowl, this food was a hit. I can barely get their bowls on the floor before it’s all gone. The nugs seem to be the highlight… they go wild for them! It feels great knowing I’m feeding them something nutritious that they genuinely enjoy. Highly recommend for any pup who deserves a delicious meal!

My dog is a 6 year old German shepherd who is enjoying this food. I had to transition her from her old food and there have been no problems. I feel this is one of the healthier dog food available. The Nugs have become a favorite of my dog also. I definitely would use this product again.
