The bottle is fine, but the cap is clunky to manage since it is not part of bottle. Also, Maggie isn't crazy about drinking out0 of the cap for some reason. A friend of mine has one she bought at Cabela's that the top opens up and you can pour the water into it in one motion and when done, the cap folds over the bottle. I didn't want to go to Cabela's (I don't believe in hunting animals) so I got this one. Kong is a good brand, but as I mentioned, it's not ideal. FYI. =)
I bought the 25 ounce bottle because I have a large dog. The design of the bowl is not at all suited to a large dog, with the bowl too small and the need to hold it for the dog to drink from not well thought out. It guarantees more spill and splash than drinking. This might work for small dogs, and should be marketed that way.
So wanted to like this product given the reputation of Kong. And I like the design, given that it’s stainless and my German shepherd can drink easily from the lid. Unfortunately, it has a major design flaw. The lid leaks, unless you’re able to keep it upright at all times, expect your backpack or your car to get soaked.
But.. the cap was not necessarily water tight. It did have stress lines in threads which I’m sure leads to the leakage. Totally works great as water storage and drinking vessel just can’t get flipped upside down without leaking.
I think this is a counterfeit item as it has a different brand name (not Kong) in two places. The design is also not good as it requires two hands to hold unlike other water bottles where the bowl folds out and is attached to the bottle.
tried this water bottle out and it leaked immediately. it is a screw on vs a flip back which is what i realize is best . this is not helpful when walking a dog and then you have to unscrew it and pour water into the cup vs just flipping a lid back. i am not happy with this purchase and will return it.
Lightweight, leakproof, and metal! I shy away from plastic whenever I can and metal keeps water cooler. I throw this little bottle in my purse for my 15 lb Chin and it’s perfect for a hike or dog park visit.
This is great for keeping my dog's water cold in the summer weather. While wearing it on the cupholder on the back of my belt, the condensation soaked through so much that my jeans got wet. I can't use it unless it is in a plactic bag. This is so odd as I live in a desert community where it is dry.
I thought this was one of those flip top bottles based on the shape. But you have to unscrew the top, then fill it. Not something that can be done one handed. But that's kind of my bad, I should have looked harder at all the pictures. Otherwise it is the usual Kong quality, built to last.
The cup shape was hard to handle to use and it screwed on so tight that it was hard to get water fast enough and no way to set down the cup in the wild so you could give the water. The canister is lite and the idea of a cleaner plastic is great but just does not work for daily use on walks.
