Create the ultimate prey and let your cat unleash her inner huntress with the KONG Laser cat toy. This easy-to-use laser helps facilitate interactive play sessions and provides endless fun for both you and your cat. Simply point the laser at the floor or wall and watch as your cat attempts to capture its elusive prey. This game of cat-and-laser satisfies the curiosity and playfulness of your kitty, and even encourages exercise.
Cats are creatures of habit with short attention spans—that's why brief, scheduled play sessions with your feline are best. Just two or more 10 to 15-minute sessions of interactive play a day is paw-fect and can also help preserve the battery life in your cat's favorite toy. The expected battery life in this toy is 10 hours, so remember to turn it off when it's not being used!
I tried it out the day it arrived, and it worked fine. 3 days later, busted it out to play with our cat, Salem Saberhagan. His excitement rose to all an all time high within seconds. Unfortunately, the juxtaposition of his excitement to extreme disappointment as the red light disappeared never to be seen again was heartbreaking. The laser pointer died and hasn't worked since. It doesn't seem to be a battery issue, especially with such little use leading up to it's untimely demise. #RIPlightamplificationbystimulatedemissionofradiation
My cats go NUTZ for this!! :D
on Aug 29, 2020
I have a lot of rescue cats, But Hobbes is a Big Cat and unfortunately neutering and becoming an inside boy at age 3 made him put on a few pounds. He went from a healthy 17 pounds to 21 in first 2 years after neuter. He doesn't seem interested in a lot of the toys I buy, and there are tons of toys. But he loves this thing. He goes running and jumping all over the walls after this. Scares me a little cause he slams the sheet rock walls so hard he has actually put a few dents in wall. :o Worried one day I'll end up with a huge cat shaped hole in my wall from his craziness. Laser toy is Best exercise for picky cat.
dimmed after 4 sessions
on Sep 7, 2020
Used this toy successfully for 4 play sessions. Now the light is so dim as to be imperceptible. Either it drains battery super quickly or its design is flawed. Either way, very disappointing. Do not buy!
Hmmm, bad batteries?
on Sep 12, 2020
The batteries they supplied in this must have been bad because after only a few weeks and not using it that much, it's already dim. When it did work it was fine and Peepers and Pepper loved it.

Lasted for all of a couple days before the battery died and even replacing the battery the toy doesn’t work the same. I thought Kong was a great brand so
I picked it over others but my mistake. One I won’t make again.
Worst. Toy. Ever.

I was excited to get this toy to get my new cats active from the start. I opened the packet, installed the batteries, nothing. Flipped the batteries, nothing. I expected better from Kong.
Not worth it
on Jul 10, 2020
I saw all the other bad reviews, yet I still bought this item. My bad! I was warned. Now I am warning anyone else -- this is great for about ONE DAY, TWO DAYS TOPS. Then it stops working. My poor babies LOVED this thing, to the point where the simple sound of it being picked up brought them running. But alas, the thing completely crapped out, and now they are just disappointed in me as a pet parent.
Doesn't work, weak light
on Jul 29, 2020
I bought two of these, and one of them doesn't work. I tried two different fresh sets of batteries in it, then took it apart, but it still doesn't work. The other has such a weak light that you can only really see it in a completely dark room. Will not buy again and will try another brand.

For some reason I thought Kong meant quality. Maybe it does on other items. Pushed in the button and had a laser pointer for ten minutes. Then nothing. Then the button was pushed in, shifted and stuck. Took it apart and spent some time trying to reposition things with a paperclip. Put it back together and now, apparently, it needs batteries. Nope, not fun.
Possibly bad unit?

I picked Kong brand because it has been so reliable for for dog toys. Maybe not so much for electronics? I'm hoping it was just a bad unit.
