Do you have to hold the button for this to stay lit.

How far does the laser extend?

Since it is a light, there are a lot of variables on how far it can reach. Officially, it is tested to a class 2 laser, which has a max power output of less than 1mW, and a wavelength of 630-650 nanometers. The distance from which it can be seen will vary greatly by the conditions around it. The "Non Ocular Hazard Distance" is typically around 23 feet for this class and type of laser. Practically speaking, this laser will be easily visible within a standard sized room of a house.

Doesn't work right

I bought this to play with my dogs and cats but right off the bat after putting the batteries in it doesn't work right. The light flickers and turns off if the back end is fully screwed on and will only work as intended but still flicker is the back end is just barely screwed in.

Stopped working after a few uses

We bought this little laser toy for my mini dachsund for Christmas.. It rains alot here and he doesn't get to play outside much in the winter so I thought it would be good for indoor excercise. He loved it - maybe a little too much - but it stopped working after only a few uses. Now I will have to find one that won't die after a couple weeks. Idk if the batteries can be replaced but they prob cost more than the toy itself. I should have read the other reviews before purchasing because this seems to be a common complaint. Also the keychain chain broke immediately after we opened it.

Horrible product

I gave this one star because it would not let me give zero stars. I got this because I felt like Kong is a good brand but this was horrible. It was a struggle to get the batteries in and even harder to screw the end back on. The light is dim too.

Didnt last a month

The batteries were starting to die but before I could replace them the button got jammed and the whole thing came apart. I was unable to put the button back in its place so I had to throw it away.

Puniest Laser Toy Ever

Do not buy this, the laser is so faint you have to hold it a centimeter away from any surface to see it and your cat will definitely not see it so it doesn't even serve its purpose as a toy. Pick another one

Laser light interactive toy

Disappointed with this Kong laser light. Wouldn't work correctly. Tried switching batteries every which way but still not help. not work. Might just be a manufacturing flaw

Stopped working after 3 uses.

It took me about 10 minutes of fiddling with the batteries to get it to work because the light kept flickering on and off. Once i got it working it lasted for about 3 play times before the light turned off on the fourth play. I readjusted the batteries and even took it as apart as i could without breaking it to see if i could find the problem. All to no avail, upon putting it back together it still did not work.

Laser Toy Doesn’t Last

My cat loved this toy, but it quit working. We bought new batteries, but it still won’t work. It was great for the few months it lasted.

wish I had read the reviews!

I bought this to replace my cats’ beloved laser light, which was probably pawed under a heavy piece of furniture in the middle of the night. Unfortunately you get what you pay for and this thing barely worked. It needed all three batteries and the light was only detectable when I held it an an inch from a surface in a darkened room. My poor girl went crazy looking for the light every time she heard the button click! I thought a Kong brand toy would be quality but I’ll just have to look at the reviews before buying the next replacement
