Is the D-ring leash attachment plastic?? If so, that won't last with a large dog!

The D-ring leash attachment is made of plastic.
I have two dogs. Both about 8 pounds. One is long haired daschund and the other teacup poodle. Their girths are 15" and 17". I am not sure if I need the XXS or the XS. Necks are both 9 inches. What size do you recommend?

The most important measurement is the chest; measure your dog's chest around the widest part, adding 2 inches for comfort. For the best fit, if your pet falls somewhere between two sizes, we advise ordering the larger of the two.
The so called "pink" looks more lavender which we prefer. Is the pic accurate?
