Where are these made?
Answer by ChewyJul 15, 2017
These are made in the U.S.A.

What is the length of this elk chew
Answer by ChewySep 20, 2018
The X-Small measures 4 inches long x 1 inches wide x 1 inches high and weighs 0.8 ounces. The Small measures 5 inches long x 0.75 inches wide x 0.75 inches high and weighs 2 ounces. The Medium measures 6 inches long x 0.75 inches wide x 0.75 inches high and weighs 3.1 ounces. The Large measures 7 inches long x 1 inches wide x 1 inches high inches and weighs 4.1 ounces. The X-Large measures 8 inches long x 1 inches wide x 1 inches high inches and weighs 6.3 ounces.

Are these heat-treated? How are they cleaned for safe consumption.
Answer by ChewyMar 05, 2021
The Antlers are not heat-treated. In the nine years that KONG has been selling antler chews, there has never been an issue related to parasites or bacteria. An Antler is basically a bone that grows rapidly and then sheds. Shed antlers do not decompose - the inner marrow simply dries out and the outer bone protects it against moisture absorption. The longer it stays exposed to the elements the drier it gets and parasites and bacteria do not thrive in dry conditions. For this reason, we only process whole antlers that are completely encapsulated and protected.

Are these edible?

Strong chewer

My female Kelpie loves these and it’s the only thing that lasts and isn’t synthetic. Nylabones seem to create plasticky shards shortly after she has them. These do not!

Odie Gives Two Paws Up!

I bought four these when they were on sale for my Dogo Argentino mix, and they've lasted six months. Only one splintered in one place after about 3 months. I keep them in the freezer, and I also soak them in bone broth, so maybe that's why mine aren't brittle. Anyway, for the sale price you can't beat them!

My Newfiedoodle loves the elk antler. He won’t even look at pigs ears or anything like that. Plus the elk antler does splinter like others do.

Got it on sale

Got it ~30% off and I would buy more at that price, at full price i'd rather support my local stores. Don't get me wrong it is a darn good antler, I was impressed with the quality of the entire thing but especially the outer shell. It was as if they were there the moment it fell off the elk or had someone in some third-world country saw them off and sold them, but we'll never know.

Good but could be better

I bought two of the same size and they were very different in overall size and weight so now my pets each want the bigger one

Worth fighting over?

My two dogs love these so much that they converted my non-chewer dog, into a chewer. They fight over one antler, despite having two. These have become a staple in our house. My only con to owning antlers for my dogs, is stepping on one in the dark in the middle of the night. It is the equivalent to stepping on a lego and can induce sailor language. But I will do anything for my two basset hounds, therefore, I am ordering two more right now....

Awful - don't spend the money

We have really aggressive chewers, so I don't even bother with most chew toys. Antlers are about the only thing that lasts. And Kongs. So I thought these two would be super for the dogs. We received our shipment at 6pm last night. The antlers are more than 1/2 gone already. They are breaking really easily too. Really expected better.

My Dog Loved This

To say my dog is an "aggressive" chewer is quite the understatement. He loved this, BUT had it chewed apart in an hour. I had to take the remains away from him. So, while he did enjoy it, it was gone quickly. It would be great if it had lasted a bit longer!

No thanks, Mom!

I have two adult Cane Corso. These split antlers held their attention for a few minutes initially and nothing since. They LOVE to chew on beef bones, but not these.
