Not usable for turkeys

I purchased this for turkey poults (mixed with chick starter to obtain the correct % protein for turkeys). I don't often write negative reviews, but I was surprised that the bag was basically dust with almost no identifiable "pieces". There is no way that a young bird would be able to actually pick it up. In my experience with poultry, it is critical that young birds have a clear image of feed pieces so that they start to peck at the appropriate thing. Impossible with this feed. I have a huge bag that I am now going to throw away. The only use I can imagine is if you have birds that eat feed that is mixed with a bit of water perhaps.

Great for Coturnix Quail chicks

Used this feed for my Quail chicks from weeks 0-7, they grew strong and healthy and we had no losses! The consistency is finely ground and the chicks had no issues eating it. Will be using this again for the next hatch soon!

Turkey Poults Love it

I purchased this when I learned that turkeys need a much higher concentration of protein as they grow--the people at the local feed store sold me basic chick food. Glad I did my Googling. This starter mash by Kruse's has a good blend and my turkeys love it. They've grown superbly well in the past week (they were three weeks old when I got this and now at four weeks, they look remarkably happier and healthier). They seem to like the crumbled feed better as well (as opposed to the pellets), so that's another plus. It does contain GMOs but so far it's the best formulated, most reasonably priced bag of feed I've found for turkeys yet. I had no trouble with shipping; it shipped within two days and was at my door within 5 days.

My birds need their food now and I have to wait a month before I get it. Never again!

Perfect for quail chicks & grow outs

Nice and fine so you don’t have to grind it for your chicks! There are some stray kernels of corn but I just pull those out and throw them to the chickens
