How do you measure your dogs leg to know what size to get? I know how to measure I just don’t know from what point on the leg to measure it from

Answer by ChewySep 11, 2021
If your dog's back legs aren't extra thin or bulky, you can make a good guess using their weight as a guide: Small 5-30 lbs (note that your dog's leg must be at least 15 inches tall, from the bottom of the foot up to the top of the hip—if the leg is shorter than this, the Lightweight brace will be a better fit), Medium 30-75 lbs, Large 75-100 lbs, and XL 100+ lbs. If your dog's back legs are extra thin or bulky it's best to also do some measuring: using a flexible measuring tape, measure the circumference of your dog's leg at 2 inches above the hock bone and then at 2 inches below it. Compare your findings with the following measurements to confirm which size will work best: Small 5.5" above and 3.25" below, Medium 6.25" above and 4" below, Large 7" above and 5.25" below, XL 7.5" above and 6.25" below.

does the package come for two leg braces for the rear

Can this brace be worn at all times?

Answer by ChewyOct 23, 2021
This brace can be worn at all time and be used as a preventative measure for elderly dogs which are at a higher risk for injuries.

Does this help with slightly cow hocked legs

Answer by ChewyMay 10, 2023
This hock brace can be used to help dogs heal from rear leg injuries. It can also be used as a preventative measure for elderly dogs which are at a higher risk for injuries. For other uses, we recommend consulting with your veterinarian to determine whether it is suitable for your pets needs.

My dog has three legs, so he wears this just for a little bit of extra support for his back leg, when we go on walks. He doesn't mind wearing it! He doesn't even seem to notice it! I ordered a Large and that might have been slightly too big, the Velcro straps overlap a little but it's not a big deal. I will order this again whenever I need a replacement!

Couldn’t use

Would not stay up on leg. Kept sliding down. It didn’t work for him but, I’m sure it’s a great product.

Great

You should only need a big size if your dog has a lot of hair. I picked the wrong size thinking she is a big dog. The leg is so thin a large is big but it works

The brace is what I expected, size did not fit for my dog. The braces is not supposed to be a stiff support, just one to help. If you have ever worn a wrist or ankle support it compares to that. This model did not have a stiffener. In my opinion a stiffener would be hard for a dog to wear/walk in.

Labra dog hock brace.

Good quality - well made. Used short term to cover wound so dog couldn’t chew bandages.
