How do you measure your dogs leg to know what size to get? I know how to measure I just don’t know from what point on the leg to measure it from
Answer by ChewySep 11, 2021
If your dog's back legs aren't extra thin or bulky, you can make a good guess using their weight as a guide: Small 5-30 lbs (note that your dog's leg must be at least 15 inches tall, from the bottom of the foot up to the top of the hip—if the leg is shorter than this, the Lightweight brace will be a better fit), Medium 30-75 lbs, Large 75-100 lbs, and XL 100+ lbs. If your dog's back legs are extra thin or bulky it's best to also do some measuring: using a flexible measuring tape, measure the circumference of your dog's leg at 2 inches above the hock bone and then at 2 inches below it. Compare your findings with the following measurements to confirm which size will work best: Small 5.5" above and 3.25" below, Medium 6.25" above and 4" below, Large 7" above and 5.25" below, XL 7.5" above and 6.25" below.

Can this brace be worn at all times?
Answer by ChewyOct 23, 2021

does not work

This is so flimsy and so small. It didn’t provide any protection for my dog who is having an issue with the tendon near his hock. It went directly into the trash unfortunately. You get what you pay for - it’s only 20 bucks and it may work for a dog that doesn’t need any support.

Great support

My dog broke her ankle as a puppy and now that she is 12, she is dealing with arthritis in this joint and degeneration of the muscle b/c she doesn't use the leg as much b/c of the pain. This brace has allowed her to go on walks again and even take short sprints on 4 legs as we work to keep her comfortable and active.

Nicely made, but doesn't fit my corgi's short legs.

It doesn't provide the support I was hoping for. She just straightens her leg and drags it behind her

I would not call this brace extra supportive.

Not enough support for my dog after a metatarsal fracture, Had hoped this would be helpful after a couple of months of being in a splint then to a solid backed brace. He is a 9 year old Weimaraner And the healing is a slow process.
