Good but not perfect

This is the second one of these -- 14" -- we have purchased. It has a very deep bag for soil that I am having trouble filling without causing the planter to sink

This is the second one of these -- 14" -- we have purchased. It has a very deep bag for soil that I am having trouble filling without causing the planter to sink lower than it should. I don't know if the previous one was this deep. The bag deteriorates over time and since they don't sell a replacement one you have to buy a whole new planter. That is my first gripe. The second is that they leave white styrofoam exposed at the top. The bag will not fully cover it. I am going to try covering mine with landscape cloth with a circle cut out. Once your plant becomes full you don't see it anyway, but most water plants don't stay full throughout the year. I would appreciate Laguna stating the amount of soil needed to fill the planter. Hard to know how much to order.

Works and looks nice

Gives much needed shade to my small pond. I took a few liriope from my yard and washed the roots well before planting, looks very nice. A tip- I used all gravel

Gives much needed shade to my small pond. I took a few liriope from my yard and washed the roots well before planting, looks very nice. A tip- I used all gravel first time and it floated right below the surface. Then I used half vermiculite and finished off with gravel. I'm hoping a hard rain won't wash the vermiculite out, but since my pond is a pre formed it over flows when it rains hard so any vermiculite would float away and I could try more gravel on top. If you have room for a bigger one you'll have more plant choices. I went with something that wouldn't tip over when it grew top heavy
