my dog used to eat so fast that he'd think he was still hungry... He came from a house where he was neglected. He was skin and bones when he came to me, so I got this bowl to help show him that he has food and he's getting full. It really helped, even if it frustrated him at times. But I no longer need to use these types of bowls because he is much calmer about his food now and even leaves some sometimes in his regular bowl, so he can eat it later.

Not for large dog

I needed this size so it would fit in my dogs existing raised feeder. I dont want him hunched overbowl on ground. It fits in the bowl. However, the spaces between

I needed this size so it would fit in my dogs existing raised feeder. I dont want him hunched overbowl on ground. It fits in the bowl. However, the spaces between the design is so narrow that my shepherd can't get his snout in there to get his food. So he got frustrated and walked away. It may work if it wasn't so deep. Maybe not. Didn't slow my dog eating down, he didn't even want to deal with it.
