I took in a brother and sister pair of kittens both from the same litter. I went to get them fixed and he weighed in at 6.9 pounds while she was 2.6 pounds and couldn't handle the anesthesia so they aborted the procedure until we got more weight on her. They already recieved wet and dry food. We leave dry food out all day and night and feed wet twice a day and she was still tiny. We fed separately as well so we knew she ate it. So I looked into products to help her gain weight and came across this one. It's only been a few weeks and she's put on about a pound so far. It's not super fast but also not super slow either. She's also playing more. We will try the spay procedure again once she's at least 5 pounds. Would definitely recommend.

(Note: I've seen some confusion here on how to use this product - do mix it with a bit of water; sprinkling on top is not appetizing) I had a sick senior cat who couldn't eat anything but tube-squeeze treat food, which is no where near the calories and nutrition cats need. I added this powder and she loved it. She is now eating regularly again, but I will be keeping her on this until her weight comes back a bit more. Thank goodness for this product!

She had been thoroughly checked out by the vet, more than once, and there were no underlying health issues causing this, and she was put on a prescription product which has helped -- but I saw Lexelium and was intrigued to see if this could also help to increase her appetite. I was a little surprised and hesitant when I saw this product had zero reviews -- but decided to take a chance. I mixed the product into her food and she ate -- no more than usual, but she didn't have any aversion to the taste or smell, so I thought that was a good sign. On day 2 she had some loose stool, which is very unusual for her, and she threw up a little. But I still gave her some on day 3 --- and very shortly after she threw up all the food and had diarrhea all day. Since stopping the product, she has returned to normal -- so I am quite sure this product was indeed the cause. Also, since this experience, I did some more research and found other reviewers with similar experiences on another site -- so I know it is not just me and my cat alone. This may be a great product for those with younger animals -- but for me, it was not a good experience. And if you purchase this, you should be careful and watch your pet well.

I always feel badly leaving a negative review -- but I have to share my experience. I was a little hesitant to buy this product -- especially since there were no reviews to go off of -- but I have an elderly cat that is on the borderline of being underweight. She is on a prescription appetite stimulant but I still have to coax her to eat, and I was hoping this product would work in conjunction with the med, or in a perfect world, maybe even show enough positive results that I could use it instead. The good news was, when I mixed this with her food, she did not seem adverse to the taste. That was promising. The first day I saw no increase in appetite, in fact it may have even lessened just a tad, but I know things take time so I was prepared to give it a couple of weeks. But by day 2 she was throwing up and had diarrhea. And those symptoms increased on day 3. So I just stopped using the product. While my cat is elderly, she is not sickly. So these symptoms were highly unusual and they stopped when I stopped using the product. Perhaps it is great for kittens -- but not my cat.
