Will this bleed any natural tannins that will stain the water?

Spiderwood can leech tannins which can cause a slight brown to yellow tint to your water. This is natural and the effects will reduce over time. Boiling the wood prior to use can decrease the tannins leeching and adding activated carbon will speed up the clearing process.
