Would this work well in an axolotl tank where minimal current is preferred?

Answer by ChewyNov 28, 2024
This filter works well in an Axolotl tank as it can be positioned vertically or horizontally creating gently flowing water.

Can this be used in tanks for turtles?

This small compact filter and pump can be used for any aquatic species.

I bought 2 of these and they worked great so after a month I bought 3 more for my other tanks. However after about 3 months they all have stopped working almost completely. They still run but they hardly have any flow. I liked there compact size and how great they worked in the beginning and I clean them regularly but now they barely work and I have to buy all new filters. Not worth the hassle.

Very compact

Very small internal filter seems to work fine. I'm not certain that I would count on it to handle a heavily stocked aquarium but it works and the spray bar attachment

I’ve got three of these filters in our saltwater quarantine and holding tanks, and they’ve been fantastic. We swapped out the carbon and sponge for filter floss, which works well for filtering and doesn't remove medications in QT. I also removed the spray bar, and the filter does a nice job of creating a flow in the tanks. Once the animals are out of quarantine, we use a "clean" holding tank with the filter media, and it performs really well. Some of the fish even love swimming in the flow the filter creates.

cheaply made

Bought this, to try and see if this brand is any good! Well, it’s VERY cheaply made, it uses very thin plastic, the foam filter media, is too small, to do any good. This might be fine, on a 5 gallon,(or smaller)aquarium, but nothing bigger. I was very disappointed in the quality, and I put it back in the box (never even got it wet). I’ll use it some day, but I’ve been using a different brand, which I’m having very good luck with.
