Made with sand-like silica gel crystals, which are a naturally occurring mineral made of water, sand, and oxygen, it offers superior moisture and odor-trapping qualities. In fact, it absorbs urine instantly and leaves litter dry to the touch—which in turn provides maximum odor control. And since the moisture then evaporates, the crystals can be reused for two months, making this an earth-friendly options as well. Totally non-toxic and safe for cats, it’s soft on the paws with very low dust.

Additional Instructions
As with any new cat litter it is very important to introduce it gradually. Cats are not excited about litter changes so whenever introducing any new cat litter it is recommended that you incorporate some portion of the old litter to encourage cat’s trial. It may even be best to incorporate some clumps of waste or used litter from the currently used box during the first couple days. A 50% new on bottom / 50% old on top mix best for the first month gradually stirring the litters to mix and let the cat get used to the texture and sounds of the new litter. By the time you get to the start of month 2 the silica gel litter should be the only litter in the box with complete cat acceptance. You may also find it helpful to place the cat in the box after changing to pearls and comfort them into trying the texture and sound. Pearls may have more sound as they shift as the cat walks.
Since my 18lb cat Totoro became diabetic I wanted to switch from awful clay litter to something new. I did a fair bit of research and was excited to see this crystal litter recommended. Unfortunately, this was a disappointing product. My cat had no issue switching to crystal litter but he has asthma. This litter is incredible dusty when replacing or raking daily. It felt like a smelly cloud lingered each time. Besides the odd dusty odor, this litter didn't handle urine odor as I hoped. We had to replace the litter in the jumbo litter box within 2 weeks despite following instructions. I will say it tracks less than clay litter and did not stick to my cat's fur which were pros.
It wasn't great at odor control and needed to be changed more frequently than bag says. But the absolute worst part for me was the sound the crystals make. Not just when the cats dig in the litter box, but stepping on the loose crystals on the floor sounded like shards of glass.
Great litter, just too expensive
I wanted to like this litter, but good lord, the dust! Every time I scooped I ended up choking in a thick cloud. Silica dust isn't a great thing to breathe, and I don't want me or my cats taking in that much of it. Won't order again.
We love this litter it actually saves us money we only have to renew it every 2 weeks for 4 cats
Package says 99.9% dust free. Are you kidding?! This stuff is extremely dusty! My poor cat keeps sneezing from it.
More importantly Bear does as well. Its so easy and the odor absorbency is excellent
I thought I was ordering clear non-colored cat crystals litter. Much to my surprise, when it arrived there are blue crystals in it.
We didn't have an issue with the first time we bought it, but after the 2nd purchase, we will definitely not be buying it again. It was so dusty that it made both of my cats sneeze. Tracked everywhere! I had to vacuum or sweep pretty much every time they used the litter box because I would see paw prints and pieces of it on my flooring. One of my cats now is having skin issues even though the only thing that got changed within the last few months was their litter. Within 30 minutes to an hour of him using the litter box, he starts running around the house and aggressively grooming himself with his back twitching. And it started to smell so quickly. We have 4 litter boxes and only 2 cats, and they all started stinking shortly after we changed them. I don't know if they changed their formula between the 2 purchases I made, but this was one of the worst experiences I've had with crystal litter.
I've used crystal litter since 2007. My cats and I appreciate that there is no odor -- even in small places. Currently, this is the best. I recently "tested" 6 different brands with my 2 male cats over several months, and this one lasted the longest and worked best. Of course, the key with crystal litter is to stir it every day.
