What do you use for bags?

The Litter-Robot does not require special bags or liners for the waste drawer. As long as it fits, you can use it. The dimensions of the waste drawer are 16 inches high x 12.5 inches wide x 5 inches deep. Customers often use 10 to 13 gallon kitchen garbage bags or large plastic grocery bags.

How litter does it hold and how often do would I have to replace litter

Fill the globe with approximately 8-10 pounds of litter, until it meets the raised fill line on the black rubber globe liner when spread flat. If there is too much litter in the globe, it will be expelled into the waste drawer during the first few cycles. Since the waste clumps are removed during each cycle, there is no need to put excessive litter in the globe. The Litter-Robot uses litter very efficiently since the patented sifting system only removes the clumps. We recommend checking the litter level against the raised fill line (on the black rubber liner of the globe) each time you empty the waste drawer, which is about once per week for a single cat or twice for multiple cats. Be careful not to overfill the globe.

Very Disappointed

bought the Litter-Robot 3 WiFi model and was excited at first, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. After less than three months of use, the unit started having major system problems. It often stops mid-cycle and fails to return to the correct position. This issue keeps happening over and over again. Customer service is not helpful at all. They only ask for video proof and tell you to take the machine apart and fix it yourself. For such an expensive product, this is completely unacceptable. I absolutely do not recommend buying the Litter-Robot 3.

Not foolproof

My one cat has been using this for over 6 months. At times, it does not cycle on its own so I unplug it and power it back up and that usually works after the 1st

My one cat has been using this for over 6 months. At times, it does not cycle on its own so I unplug it and power it back up and that usually works after the 1st attempt, by the 3rd try for sure. Damp litter sometimes gets stuck to the inside despite using even the Tidy Cats recommended brand. I shouldn't have to check it twice a day to make sure it's working.

Nice. Handy, especially if you're not supposed to come in contact with cat poo because of Autoimmune or pregnancy. However... custom bags are required ($$$), the unit is prone to glitches (our poor kitty was in misery after motor stopped halfway through cycle, leaving no usable litter box) and now, after 3 years, needs a brand new motor (really glad I'm handy)

Had to return

Wanted so bad to simply love the litter robot 3 but between being noisy when it cycled and never weighing my cat, I felt duped. Not one to return anything, however I must have just gotten a bad one after all my troubleshooting to “fix” to no avail. So I live chatted my concerns to Chewy and allowed me to return it. Immediately ordered the Litter Robot 4, couldn’t be happier, everything works exactly like it should right out of the box. Chewy stood behind their services!

I never want to be without it

Cats like it better than their regular litter box. Sometimes litter clumps stick to the litter robot. Overall very happy.

After the first use the Litter Robot malfunctioned. The inside was on its side without litter. The cats used their old litter box until it became so disgusting

One of the cats adapted rather quickly, but it took a long time for the other cat to trust it. Both the cats are using it now, but I check frequently to make sure that it hasn't malfunctioned again.
