How does it attach to the wall?

Low quality especially for the price and the pad is DANGEROUS

For the price, I was expecting this to be higher quality. The shelf itself is low quality IKEA-type board with wood veneer, probably won't last very long, and the pad, instead of heavy-duty Velcro to adhere the pad to the shelf, it comes with an elastic loop that slips over the base. Very first time the cat jumped on it, the loop snapped and the cat slipped right off the shelf. He's okay, a little shaken. We have to go get Velcro strips and glue them to the base ourselves. Do not recommend.
