Can I use an extension cord with this? And is it safe to use outdoors (Not in direct contact with rain but in a screened area where some dampness can get in?)

For these brooder lamps, Miller Engineering does not recommend them for outdoor use, even with an outdoor-rated extension cord. This product should be used indoors and plugged directly into a GFI outlet.
