Does the top open in order to clean inside? Is it a regular bucket type lid?

There is no lid on this waterer. The best method for cleaning is to use hot, soapy water. A brush can be used in the entrance and bottom of the container but not all around the inside. Helpful tips to avoid algae growth are to use the product in a shaded area and to dump out and refill water daily.
Can you put this waterer on a heater?

This 1 Gallon Poultry Waterer will not sit on a heater base properly to be effective as the bucket is round and the front flat piece is what prevents the bucket from rolling which does not allow the bucket to lay flat on the surface.
Can this item be cleaned on the inside of it?
