I actually bought this for my bunnies because I try to simulate foraging with all their meals. The pellets work great in it ! My bunnies absolutely love this ball and get excited when they see it. It would probably work for cats, ferrets, or other small animals too (the plastic is not durable enough for a dog though ! ).
My girls were not interested and or didn't catch on to this toy.
This is the most entertaining thing for them, I have bought so many toys for my chicken children, they barely play with any of them, but this one they go bonkers over!! They love it!!
This little chicken toy is great and easy to open to add treats. My chicks are still a little to small to roll it, but they are managing to get the treats out anyway. Great product.
We have young hens and they figured this out right away. It is fun to watch them roll it around and getting treats. We do put small treats in it but it is hard to fill. It is meant to scoop them up but it comes out the end. I would give it a 5 if it wasn't for hard to fill.
First off I ordered more than $49 worth of stuff. All of it was advertised as free 1-3 day shipping. It took 5 days. My 6 hens completely ignored this toy even tho it had black fly larva in it. Not a single peck.
I have three little hens that share a small coop and run. I like to make their lives as interesting as possible. I have trained them that when they returned to the run after being out in the yard, they get a treat. I was just throwing a handful of bird seed or dried worm on the ground of their run, but now I put it in the ball. They seem to enjoy the challenge of roll it around to get their treats.
Ok I got these for enrichment for my chickens. They come open way to easy,my girls just bust them open an chow down. Better just put Holes in water bottle.
Both my chickens and ducks find this very entertaining! Gives them something to do for a little while and makes them work for treats instead!
My chickens love this little toy but I recommend you give them 2/3 so they don't fight. Really good and it held up in the elements!!!
