The control ball serves as a piston and releases water out of the tube when nudged inwardly. When the bottle is filled and first inverted, you must press the control ball, and let the water trickle out until the vacuum-lock develops inside the bottle, before placing it on the cage. Be sure rubber stopper is securely pressed into the bottle neck. A few drops of water may drip until the water warms to the surrounding air temperature. This is normal.
Does the metal holder have a piece that holds the nozzle or does it only have the piece that goes around the top part of the bottle?

The metal piece only holds the top part of the bottle.
Is this a regular ball water bottle, where the ball can move in the spout, or is the ball fixed in place? My rabbits cannot for the life of them figure out the "anti-leak" bottles with the ball fixed in place.

A fun floating turtle keeps the water level visible and acts as a convenient reminder to refill the bottle.
Does the ball at the end of the nozzle move or is it fixed in place? I asked this already and the response did not answer my question in any way.

The ball will be moved when the animal is drinking, as they lick, and will fall back in place to create a seal when the animal is finished.

good bottle

Water bottle isn’t that leaky it’s doable, really huge, I thought my Guinea pigs wouldn’t be able to drink out of it because the nozzle thing looks big but they drink out of it just fine.

So Many Leaks

This bottle leaked constantly from the very first time I put water in it. Even trying to put water in the cap only to see what would happen at the spout end, it just all dripped right out. It did not hold any water back.

Leaks really bad

They sent me 6, i ordered 1. They charged me for 1. I called them and they said they weren't going to charge me and to do with them as I pleased. Great. Not. Every last one leaks, fast! So now I know they have a Warehouse full and need to get rid of them and said they're deliberately sending multiple to whoever orders them. I was going to donate them but instead they went right into the trash. To clarify its not a little drip it's a flowing they're all defective!

Don't let bad reviews fool you

I ordered 3 of these. I ended up receiving a blue, a green, and a purple bottle. I breed rodents, so I have a lot of experience using critter bottles. If you use this bottle properly it will not leak, and its a great deal for the price. Fill it up all the way, turn it upright, and squeeze some of the water into the sink to create a seal. Double check it by touching the ball in the spout a couple times after you've hung it. I have boughten 20 various bottles and none leak, you just have to make sure you create that seal. I will purchase again

Great bottle!

This is the only type of drinking bottles that my bunny prefers to drink from, so I know how to work it to avoid a major water dripping (although a little bit of dripping is normal). It comes with a cute water indicator. Great purchase after all.

Great size but leaks everywhere

This bottle leaks and I have to clean up water from the bottom of the cage daily. Great size, but no one likes a leaky water bottle.

Solved my problem

One I had been using broke and my Havanese refused to drink out of any other kind or a bowl. He is on a diuretic so it’s very important that he drink water. Couldn’t find a replacement anywhere but Chewy had one, received it the next day, and I have a happy pup!

DripDripDrip

I have been ordering from Chewy for close to a year and have only had positive experiences, until I ordered this water bottle. I had a bad feeling when I first pulled it out of the box seeing it’s flimsy construction and it only became worse when I went to use it. This water bottle does not hold water, dripping from the in spout valve. It was so unusable it makes me wonder if this product was subject to any quality control testing.
