Instructions
Screw your dog waterer onto an outdoor faucet. Turn on the faucet all the way and press on the lever to show your dog how it works. Your dog will see the water come out and start drinking.
If your dog does not start drinking immediately, help your dog learn by unscrewing the waterer from the faucet just enough so water trickles from the threads down over the waterer. This should attract your dog. Be sure to remove other sources of water. After several hours, demonstrate for your dog again. You can also smear some peanut butter or soft cheese on the lever to encourage your dog to lick it and activate the waterer. Once your dog is trained, be sure to tighten the waterer onto the faucet.

I have to really work with this to get it to not leak out of the top threads of the hose bib. Tried on three different bibs thinking it was specific to the first one but it leaks on all three. Once you unscrew and re-tighten several times it works without leaking. Tried new washers to see if that helped but it didn't. For now, it is not leaking. Just gotta get my dog to get used to it enough to lick it so he can drink from it! He seems to be warming up to "the new contraption".

This goes on the outside faucet and your dog has to kind of move the lever with their tongue or chin while they are drinking. It took my dog a couple of days to figure out, because she thought we had to be outside holding the lever open for her to drink. We put some peanut butter on the lever and went inside (did this 3x) so she could figure it out without us. Definitely recommend!
