I've been using this in my dog's breakfast scoop of food. I was worried that she wouldn't like it, anything that is "good" for her, I have to fight with her to get her to ingest it. The package was easy to open (helpful when you're trying to be sneaky with a dog!). I put the powder on and the color matched the food which again - helpful for being sneaky. I shook it up and you couldn't even tell it was on the food. Thankfully, it is Aspen approved! She ate it right up with no argument. I've showed her now and still, no barks about it. The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is because I cannot speak to how it will effect her longevity - but I am hopeful given the nutrition value that it'll be five stars and allow me extra time with my love.

I was skeptical at first as I am with any supplement. But after my barney ate the supplement with his breakfast with no issue I knew the first hurdle was through. Hes very picky at times. So now that I knew he would eat it I was hopeful for results. Hes going on 9 yrs old and although he has energy at times we are noticing changes in mood anxiety and his coat. After jusy 2 weeks im noticing changes to his coat. Its so soft shiny and way less shed. As well as his anxious temperment seems to be lessened. I cant wait to see how things progress.

The good news is it seems to be well tolerated and appetizing to my dogs. I could only find human health studies that used its main ingredient, FA15 (Pentodecoic Acid) but without the Himalayan cheese, miscanthus grass, natural flavoring and mixed tocopherols (preservatives) probably meant to make it more palatable for dogs, that this product includes. There is some scientific evidence of the human form, from the NIH, that it helps heart health. This same fatty acid is found in butter and fatty fish. It’s hard to say how beneficial it is to dogs without more canine research. Thus the 3 stars.
Could be a good supplement for older dogs

We aren't sure how well this might work with our dogs, as they were already on joint supplements and fish oil. However it did not make them sick and it did not affect how they ate their food. I personally would not use it again but it's worth trying if your dog isn't already on a supplement plan.

I have been giving this supplement to my 3 year old Springer Spaniel for 2 weeks now. The powdered form of this supplement makes it difficult to feed to him as he is on a dry food diet. It would be better if it was a chewable tablet. Apart from this I have not seen any noticeable benefit from this supplement so far but it has only been 2 weeks. I will continue giving it to him until they are gone as they don’t seem to be having a negative effect on him but will not be keeping him on them as I do not see any benefit.

I added this to thier food and they gobbled it up. I was afraid they wouldn't eat it since they get anything added to thier food normally. Im very happy with their reaction. Xena tends to analyze her food before eating so I was happy that she ate it without an issue. My pit mix Angel tends to not be very picky so i wasnt over worried about her not eating it.

We have 2 dogs. Rosie is 9 years old, and we just rescued Abby from a shelter where she had been for over 5 years. I was hesitant to put this powder on their dry food, so I added a little broth to it. But they just gobbled it up. Apparently, this powder has an enticing flavor to it. There is a lot in the little daily pouch, so we will give half of it to them in the morning and half in the evening on their food. We believe in supplementing our own diets and are happy to do it for our dogs also.

I like this product because it is easy to use and my dog likes the taste. I have been competing in dog sports for a number of years and have never supplemented with FA15 before. The supplement comes in individual packets. However, they are impossible to rip open. I have to use a pair of scissors to cut each packet open when I give it. It would be more convenient if I could just rip it open and add it to her food.
Accepted and well-tolerated

My dog has only been taking this for about a week, so I can't comment on the long-term benefits yet. This supplement is a powder, which is potentially an issue if you have a dog that eats only dry food and won't consume a powder. I sprinkle on my dog's food and then add a wet topper, so she usually consumes most of it without issue. She seems to like the taste and didn't reject her food the first time it was added, so overall, I would say this is a well tolerated supplement. Again, no feedback on long-term health benefits, but acceptance is 90% of the battle. This one passes that.
