Gradually transition your pet to any new food over the course of 7-14 days to help avoid the digestive upset that abrupt changes in diet can cause. If your pet tends to be on the sensitive side, it may be best to take a little extra time. 1. Start by feeding your pet a mix of 25% new food and 75% old food for the first few days. 2. Then, increase the amount of new food to about 50% and feed that half-and-half mix for a few days. 3. Proceed to feeding 75% new food/25% old food for the next few days. 4. Complete the transition by feeding just the new food on its own.

My dog was diagnosed with a mass in her stomach and a partial obstruction. She has been vomiting up her kibble, so we went with this for easier digestion since she is elderly and we will not be doing surgery. Yes, it's soft and not very loaf like, but this is great for her. Rabbit is also gentler on the digestive system than other proteins. It's a lean white meat with a high percentage of digestible protein and is bio-appropriate for dogs, as it closely resembles their natural diet. I dread the day she vomits this up, as it will be a lot more disgusting to clean up given the consistency, BUT, so far so good, she is keeping it down.

I Haven't ordered Lotus's Rabbit in awhile and gave it a whirl - MISTAKE! Please READ the other reviews + the photo - this flavor IS RUNNY, GRAINY and actually HAS AN ODOR to it that I don't remember it having last time I purchased this. I have ordered the Sardine from Lotus recently - no issue. Just never trying their Rabbit again. Not sure what's up with processing this one, but bleech.

Very disappointed. This is not a loaf, it's mush that looks like runny poop. Our fur baby will not touch it and he never turns down food. I was hoping this would be a good replacement for his wet rabbit food that is no longer available. A big waste of money. Back to researching for a different brand.
Great alternative protein
Our pups love it. Have allergy to most proteins but this works. Very soft, works well for our toothless elderly pup.

Mushy/Puree Consistency
This product is not "loaf-like" at all. I opened the can and the consistency was like a puree.

I was really hoping this would be a good replacement for my day’s previous food, which is no longer available. However, the second I opened it even I was grossed out. The best way I can describe the texture is “gloopy” and like diarrhea (sorry, it’s really gross). Because the texture is so wet, the can isn’t even filled all the way. My dog sniffed it and just backed away.

I have a senior Yorkie that we rescued 3 years ago. He has hip issues with skin issues and a sensitive stomach but he won our hearts when we were visited by the rescue group of other Yorkies. We have been through a lot these last 3 years with no regrets. This is the only over the counter food that doesn't flare up his itchy skin and sensitive stomach plus he loves it! These only reason I took away 1 star was because it's so expensive. I will continue buying as long as I can though.

My beagle has irritable bowel disease and finds most dogfood hard to digest. After trying many, even prescription foods Lotus rabbit is the only one that he not only does well with but enjoys it as well. It’s great!!!Only wish that Lotus would make rabbit kibble to go along with the wet food. My beagle has now been on this food for about a year and he’s doing wonderfully.
