Keeps falling over, base too small
While it looks well made and it’s tall enough for my cat to love it, when he gets his claws deep in there, he pulls it over. The base is too small. I’ve purchased

Tips over!
All of my cats love scratching posts, but this one is way too light at the base and tips over as soon as they touch it. Frustrating.

Unstable and REEKS of machine oil!
The palm tree scratcher is very tall and the base is wayyy to small to support cat's stretching to scratch near the top. My cat tried it and nearly toppled the tree
The palm tree scratcher is very tall and the base is wayyy to small to support cat's stretching to scratch near the top. My cat tried it and nearly toppled the tree on themselves. There's also a very strong machine oil smell which comes off on your hands and requires washing to get rid of. How can this be safe for cats to use??
It falls over
My kitties like it, but only the kittens can use it. When my bigger cat tries, it falls over on his head (but he is also a 16 lb. Maine Coon.) We have the tree propped

We have the tree propped under the edge of the chair to try and keep it from tipping. I would recommend if you only have a small cat. Photo is a 3.5 lb. kitten playing with it.

So far this cat scratcher seems like its good quality (just purchased last month so too new to vouch for its durability). My cats use it every day, which means it's a winner. The only issue is it sometimes falls over because it's so tall and my cats are vigorous scratchers. I think the base may not be large and heavy enough to stabilize it. Other than that, we're happy with it.
