What is the LupinePet Reflective H-Style Cat Harness made from?
The harness is made from soft yet durable woven nylon webbing, with reflective threads woven into the front, back, and edges for maximum visibility. It features strong bar-tack stitching, lightweight nickel-plated steel D-rings, and custom-designed YKK® buckles for secure fastening.
Will this harness fit my cat?
The LupinePet Reflective H-Style Cat Harness comes in two adjustable sizes: 9-14 inches or 12-20 inches in girth. It is designed for cats and small pets under 20 lbs. We highly recommend measuring around your cat’s body, just behind the front legs, to ensure a proper fit. Please note that all items are hand made. Because every item is cut and sewn by hand, here at our workshop in New Hampshire, it is possible that there will be some variance in our size measurements.
Can I use this harness for my kitten?
This harness is designed for cats and small pets under 20 lbs. It can be used for kittens, but only if it fits snugly and securely. Always check for a proper fit before use.
How do I adjust the harness for the best fit?
Locate the adjustment tri-glides on the neck and girth straps. To tighten or loosen, push the webbing through the slider to create excess material, then pull it through on the other side to adjust. Ensure the harness is snug and secure but not too tight.
How do I put on and remove the harness?
Unbuckle the harness and slip the smaller loop over your cat’s head. Position the larger loop around the chest, just behind the front legs, and buckle it securely. Adjust the straps as needed to ensure a comfortable and escape-proof fit. To remove it, simply press the prongs on either side of the buckles to release them.
Can I take my cat outside wearing this harness?
Absolutely! This harness is designed for safe outdoor adventures. However, always ensure it is properly fitted before taking your cat outside, and never leave your cat unattended while wearing the harness.
Can I attach a leash to this harness?
Yes! The harness features a lightweight steel D-ring for easy leash attachment. A matching padded handle leash (sold separately) is available for a coordinated look.
Can I attach an ID tag to this harness?
Yes! The harness features lightweight nickel-plated steel D-rings, making it easy to attach an ID tag.
Is this harness reflective or glow-in-the-dark?
This harness is reflective, meaning it reflects light back to the source in low-light conditions, but it does not glow or emit light on its own.
How do I clean the harness?
To clean your LupinePet gear, spot-clean, machine or hand wash with warm (not hot) water and mild soap. No bleach, brighteners or whiteners. Air dry only – do not put them in the dryer. For extreme situations, pre-soaking in an enzymatic cleaner like Nature’s Miracle or Simple Solution may be helpful. When machine washing, put items in a mesh bag or include items in with jeans or other sturdy clothes. Shampoos and other topical treatments that contain bleaching agents, clarifiers, medicines or other chemicals can cause colors to transfer to your pet’s fur. When washing your pets gear, bathing your pet or applying any of the above, we recommend that their gear be removed until the items and/or your pet’s fur are completely dry.
Can this harness prevent my cat from escaping?
The H-style design and adjustable straps help keep even the best escape artists secure. However, no harness is completely escape-proof. Ensure a snug fit and supervise your cat during outdoor use.
Can my cat wear this harness all the time?
No, the harness should only be worn during supervised activities like walks or outdoor play. It should not be left on an unattended cat.
