What is BioThane®?
BioThane® is a coated webbing made by BioThane Coated Webbing Corp. It consists of a polyester core coated with PVC, making it highly durable, waterproof, and easy to clean.

BioThane® is more durable, waterproof, and easier to clean and maintain than leather. It doesn’t absorb moisture, odors, or bacteria and remains flexible in all weather conditions.

Yes! BioThane® webbing is manufactured in North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA.
Is BioThane® durable?
Yes! Under normal use, BioThane® outlasts both leather and nylon leashes, with a break strength of 600 lbs. per inch of width and being fray resistant.
Will this leash stay flexible in cold weather?
Yes! BioThane® remains soft and flexible in all weather conditions, including freezing temperatures.
Does BioThane® get sticky or tacky?
No, it does not get sticky or tacky under normal use. However, exposure to chemicals like DEET may affect the material.
How do I choose the right length for my dog?
Our leashes are available in 4-foot, 6-foot, and 2-foot Traffic lengths. Consider the distance from your hand to your dog’s collar when selecting a length and how much freedom vs. control you wish to have. A leash can always be shortened by holding it closer. Our 1” wide leashes are designed for medium to giant dogs, 45 lbs and up. Please note that all items are handmade. Because every item is cut and sewn by hand, here at our workshop in New Hampshire, it is possible that there will be some variance in our size measurements.

No, BioThane® is stink-proof and does not absorb moisture or bacteria.
How do I clean the leash?
Simply wipe with a damp cloth for quick cleaning. For tougher messes, hand wash with warm water and mild dish soap using a brush or cloth, then wipe or air dry.
How do I disinfect the leash?
Use a 10% bleach solution (1 part bleach to 9 parts water), or disinfecting wipes like Clorox® wipes. You can also use Envirocide® or Cavicide® (following label directions).
Does LupinePet offer matching accessories?

Is this leash guaranteed?
Yes! Like all LupinePet gear, this leash is GUARANTEED, even if chewed.
Is this leash chew-proof?
While made from strong and durable materials, this leash is not chew-proof. If your dog is prone to chewing, we recommend storing it out of reach when not in use. However, we know accidents happen, which is why we back our products with our famous GUARANTEED (Even if Chewed)® warranty.
