How often can I apply this to my cat?

Apply Soft Spot Salve sparingly to those areas most susceptible to cracking or bleeding, including, but not limited to, nose, paws, elbows and knees, hot spots, and areas susceptible to psoriasis, hair loss, or excessive itching. It can be used for preventative or restorative purposes.

Is this safe for possible ingestion? My cat has a recurring sore on his mouth.

This salve is safe to use around the mouth. It is 100% premium human grade, plant based and biodegradable. It will not harm your pet if consumed in small amounts.

Can this product be used around the eye?

This salve should not be used around the eyes in order to avoid any possible contact with the eyes. If contact occurs, flush thoroughly with water.

Good for hot summers

When my dog's paws got cracked (and one of her toes even got blistered, yikes!) during the summer, this was a great way to make me feel like I was helping it somehow

Easy to use

This seems to be working, my pup is not licking his nose as much. I'd give it five stars but it didn't melt away as promised, there was still some salve his nose

This seems to be working, my pup is not licking his nose as much. I'd give it five stars but it didn't melt away as promised, there was still some salve his nose that he tried to lick off. Still, I know the ingredients are harmless and I am hopeful his chapped nose will get better. It's easy to put on, unlike sprays or ointments that are too thick.

Good salve

Our Ted had a scabby area on his tail. We applied this to it several times and it softened it and allowed it to heal.

It works, but...

So, the first things to say about this is that it works. Really well. My cat gets itchy patches just in front of his ears and tends to scratch them raw. After only

So, the first things to say about this is that it works. Really well. My cat gets itchy patches just in front of his ears and tends to scratch them raw. After only a few days of using this, his skin was much better and has continued to heal well. I will absolutely continue to use this when necessary. However: I was expecting a product that would be absorbed by his skin, and this does not work that way. It is extremely waxy and sticky, and I had to warm it up with my hands to get it to spread at all. Then it just stays there, being sticky, until someone grooms it off. It also has a very strong odor. Its clearly not the added fragrance, but the natural smell of (presumably) the shea butter. I don't like the smell, and the cat REALLY doesn't like it. He runs off as soon as I open the tin, though he doesn't seem to mind it actually being put on.

I liked this salve because it really sticks on the skin. I needed to put a diaper on right after I applied so my lab didn't' try to lick it off but after a bit I could remove it. The slave also stayed put throughout our walk even when we encountered wet grass and snow. It seemed to provide relief from the itching immediately and throughout the day. I interchanged it along with Natures Aid soothing gel depending on the days activities.
