only for large dogs, why is it all double stranded??
I ordered this because I wanted a longer version of the Mendota brand martingale slip lead but they don’t offer it. The double strands all the way up make it cumbersome
I ordered this because I wanted a longer version of the Mendota brand martingale slip lead but they don’t offer it. The double strands all the way up make it cumbersome to handle. Why do we need all that, no dog has a head that big. It’s too big to use w a 30lb or smaller dog. I wish it had a smaller neck loop piece and single stranded beyond what is needed to fit a St. Bernard /mastiff. I had hoped this would be handy with a wide variety of dogs but I am going to see if I can return it. It does seem well made and comfortable material and it came with free poop bag dispenser with bags which was a nice surprise. The e 90 degree angled tabs on the neck part look potentially uncomfortable for the dog, (they’re very stiff not pliable)

I’m not quite sure how to fit this collar and leash effectively. I love the patriotic colors, but I am not sure that it is as effective as her slip leash or her regular flat collar and straight leashes. Her neck may be a bit small for this collar and leash yet.

What a great leash! Durable and easy to use. Has an adjustable part to place over dogs head that can be tightened. Very nice lenth and srge size loop to put my hand through. The emblem is rubbery so it works as a nice grip. This leash also didn't pull on my dogs trachea like others have done. The walk went smoothly and Alice loved her freedom with this lenghth of leash.
Awkward
The neck loop is too big for my dog’s neck and cannot be adjusted. He could easily slip it. Additionally. The two 8’ long ropes are heavy and awkward. Was excited

This is beautifully constructed and very easy to put on my pup, so if you are looking for an integrated martingale-like collar and leash for a dog that tends to pull, it should do the job. For this reason, I give it four stars. The integrated leash-collar design has limitations, however, so this leash is not going to be a good fit for everyone. It is really huge, and does not fit in my coat pocket. It is also long, so if I'm on a sidewalk or my dog is walking next to me and it's dragging on the ground, I want to shorten it a bit. Normally I would wrap the leash around my hand a few times -- but the double rope construction and 8 foot length makes it far too bulky to do that. And because it is primarily a leash, it does not take the place of a regular collar with an ID tag, so when I use it my dog is wearing two collars. Long story short, this is a useful training tool for a dog that tends to pull on his/her leash, but might not be practical for walking a dog in a city setting.

I also love that it is adjustable and can bit both of my dogs that are different sizes without having to take the time to adjust straps and buckles! This product is made for wear and tear and will withstand a lot of use! I'd recommend this leash and this brand of products to my friends and family!

I foster and have my own personal dogs. Having a Martindale collar/leash is a must-have! Mad Dog's two in one is ideal. It's a little too long for my needs, but otherwise so handy! The only downside is that every pup wants to chew it so I have to pay attention, keep it picked up and always out of reach when not in use.
