It is hard to get hay inside to me but finally worked out a strategy. About that time my goats chewed through it and now it doesn’t hold hay anymore :/. Also heard it was a safety hazard that could catch goats legs or heads in so just was well. It worked very well for me at the time. Would be great for trailering horses or if goats could maybe just be blocked so the could only stick their head through and pick from it and not have close contact with the net.

The biggest issue with these is that the 2x2 hole description is not correct. The knots are not tight when the net arrives, so by the time you put hay in it, they stretch out much bigger. Some of the holes near the bottom ring of the net are small, may in fact me in the 1" area, but as you go up the netting towards the opening, the holes are 4"+ so horses go through hay much faster than they should. The ring at the bottom of the net is about 3.5" in diameter. The rope at the top to close the net is quite long and soft. I personally don't like it, but it would be easy to adjust length as there is plenty for the net opening. The softness of the rope collects hay splinters so wear gloves when filling. The 3-4 flake description only works if your hay is small 2" flakes. Most standard 4" flakes will only fit 2 in these nets.

Good slow feed hay net.
Opening stretches wide enough for small square bale flakes or pulling pieces from big round bales. Works good for our goats so they don't waste as much hay.
