For a faster solution to zeolite, try Marineland Ammonia Reducing Resin! This resin works in most freshwater aquarium filters to reduce ammonia and nitrites and to boost chemical filtration. To use, place resin into a nylon mesh media bag (sold separately), test ammonia with an aquarium test strip (sold separately), and calculate the number of tablespoons of resin needed to meet your needs. Remove and replace when color changes—the blue resin changes color to amber when depleted.

I was under the impression that this was more like carbon and zeolite. It's not. It's more like very fine grains of table salt. No picture of the jar, but the granules do not look like the picture. I have a magnum polishing filter that you can no longer find cartridges for. They have been discontinued. So, I filled the insert you would need to use, after I got a flashlight and magnifying glass to try to read the directions, rinsed it and it all blew out. I would'nt use this. I didn't even get to the next step of my filter. My tank would have been a mess. And the price ! Very, very disappointed. What a waste of money.
