The Marineland product line is our preferred aquarium filtration system. The Emperor 400 is an addition to our aquarium after the purchase of a 75-gallon tank and stand. We needed the increased and reliable filtration system to handle larger fish in a new tank. We already have a 55-gallon and 30-gallon with the appropriate sized Emperor filtration systems. So it was a no-brainer to stick with a tried and true brand for the next aquarium.

Efficient & Durable

I have had my Emperor 400 for well over 20 years without a problem. Recently it wouldn't power on after a cleaning. I left it plugged in and it eventually came on

I have had my Emperor 400 for well over 20 years without a problem. Recently it wouldn't power on after a cleaning. I left it plugged in and it eventually came on and started working. 2 days later, I noticed it had shut off. It did come back on and has been running smoothly for the last few days. But, since I was soon to leave on vacation, I didn't want to chance this happening again while I was away so I purchased the new 400 Emperor from Chewy and it arrived promptly in 2 days. I'll keep the new one and give away the old one, which like I said, seems to be still functioning. Bottom line is this filter is a real work horse !
