Bought one- lasted a year before it self destructed. Components are expensive. Don’t waste your money on anything made by Marineland
Putting it together was easy getting it started was the hard part. They don’t tell you that you have to push it more than 100 times but it works great for over a year now. No big issues other than when I have to clean it no real careful measures they tell you about
I saw all the reviews and decided to try it anyways and I wish I never spent my money on this!!! Literally drains the water out of your tank AND randomly stops working after two months of buying.... wicked upset don't buy it!!
So far so good love the set up and easy use so far. There is no real flow control so your on your own unless you want a pretty strait out of the hose experiance. The hoses are solid bit need a soke in warm/hot water to get them to attach easier. Lastly the suction cups given are fine for the intake piece, but the outflow is very short and i supplemented with another clamp. Great basic filter for 55 ish gallon. Now the deal - 51% off (no idea why 1%) buy 2 get 1 free. So for just under the msrp of 1 I got 3!. Running well a couple weeks in.
Works for a bit then drains all the water out of your fish tank. We even put new o-rings in the machine like customer service said to do still drain the fish tank again.
There's was a noise from two little flapper doors that help prime the canister. I removed the two flappers from the hole under the red prime button and there was no noise at all. Fill the canister and hoses with water it will start right away. You don't need the red button syphon pump to cycle the water through. To check this you have to take the screws off of the motor head then the pump button, in all eight screws. Put your finger in the hole where you removed the red prime button and you'll feel the two flappers that can be wiggled out. If you don't mind a little noise just leave them alone either way...Best canister ever!
Spent half an hour installing and 15 minutes priming. Water just won't start flowing. The design of outlet is horrible. It had to be situated perfectly to be submerged. Not working. One star is one too many. Returning the product
It leaked out water all over the floor even after we tried silicone on the seal.
it was easy to get started. I have it in a 55gal. with a Oscar does great.
Really too early to review this filter. Just bought it and haven't ran it long enough to have to clean the filter pads and media. Set up was a breeze and had it running in 10 minutes or so. Very quiet and water is crystal clear.
