Good price for turtle tank
By JazzHands on Jan 29, 2021
I use this in a 50 gallon tank for my African side neck. The fabric filter works great however, turtles require massive filtration and the filter needs to be changed every 3 days. I use the charcoal filter and sleeves. Much more affordable. For the price and the job it does its very much worth it. Chewy has the best price by 50% versus other places I've checked. VERY important to not let the motor sit out of the water.

works great

This is a amazing product. My water was so perfect after about 12 hours... I had done some serious rearraigning in my 75gal tank. Water looked terrible afterwards.. The Polishing Filter Worked Great. The added bonus is if your filter goes down, throw some carbon or media or sponges in and it will work to keep things going so you don't lose your fish. I'm glad to have this on-hand...

75 gal aquarium
By Deborah on Dec 29, 2020
My HOT Magnum lasted 20 yrs. I called Marineland to find it was no longer made. I asked for recommendation of comparable filter . This filter was suggested. It has done a great job. My water is crystal clear with the polishing filter. I run this along with my other HOT Magnum with the carbon. Very happy. I wasn't sure about an internal filter, never had one. I'm impressed. And Chewy price can't be beat !!

I SO wanted this to work..
By FilterFrustrated on Dec 1, 2020
Bought this for our 90G tank to replace a DIY canister filter we were tired of messing with. Worked GREAT for the first two days.... our tank has two fish, a 11” Oscar and a 13” pleco. That’s it. Within 48 hours the filter (not the polishing one) is completely full and water flow is almost nothing. It’s an entire process to have to get it apart and clean it. Plus you really can’t go more than 4 times cleaning the filter floss sleeve before having to replace it, and good luck finding them at your LFS. I was hoping this would be a good alternative to purchasing an expensive canister filter, and being “in tank” helps alleviate any possible flooding mishaps. But the constant CONSTANT cleaning that has to be done is ridiculous. I’ve tried both the floss sleeve and the polishing filter. Might as well have no filter and just do a full clean every other day since that’s what you have to do with this thing. If I’m doing something wrong I’d love to know! Bc I SO wanted this to work. … more

Disappointed
By Robert on Feb 2, 2021
Bought this canister pump back in December and it was shipped on the 28th. It started making a strange noise yesterday and now it completely stopped working. You would think it would last longer than 5 weeks.

Clogs very easily.
By Jada on Jan 27, 2021
I liked this filter at first, but unfortunately it clogs very easily. It’s prone to slow down and stale, even with adequate changes/cleaning to the filtration itself.

Nice polisher
By Tammy on Nov 15, 2020
I bought this after reading that you could use it as a water polisher with Diatomaceous Earth. I have not used the Diatomaceous Earth in it yet, but even with just the micron filter, it's been incredible at getting the water clear. I have a Vortex Diatom Filter that has been discontinued so I wanted to have an alternative to clearing the water up when doing water changes etc. Easier to set up & use than the large DE filter. The instructions say you can soak the micron filter in water & a bleach mixture. While this works to get the filter clean, I did have to throw away the filter after, because the rubber on the ends of the filter start to melt. While this works to get the filter clean, I did have to throw away the filter after, because the rubber on the ends of the filter start to melt. I don't know why they tell you that you can do this, when it clearly eats away at the filter and if someone puts that back into the filter to use it it's hard to tell what it would do to your aquarium water and the fish. I rinse mine in a strong stream of water and let it dry on a rack I have for my aquarium equipment. It comes with the equipment to use it as an everyday filter as well. A place to put your filter media etc. There's unfortunately no way to control the water flow strength on this filter, so for my tank at least, it's a bit rough for the fish to swim against that strong of a current. So I use it mainly for clearing up the water. Easy to take a part and use. Easy to hang in the tank. Suction cups are very strong. I will update when I've tried the diatomaceous earth in the filter. I have been using it pretty constantly for several weeks in one tank without any noise issues and having no issues with it not working. It's been perfect so far. Overall it's been an amazing polishing filter to use in between breaking out the large polisher. I gave it four stars because I feel it's wreckless of them to say you can soak the filter in a bleach water solution when it eats away at the rubber ends. Aquariums are delicate. The water parameters are easy to sway in the wrong direction which can easily kill your fish. If someone doesn't know better or doesn't notice the rubber, I don't know what it would do to the water parameters and/or the fish. I've attached pictures of what happens to the rubber on the filter. … more

Works if put all the way in the water
By JDub on Dec 18, 2020
Stop the hate this works even in a sand environment. Clean once a month but the carbon filter needs to be switched 2 times a month to work perfectly. Also unplug the unit b4 you pull it out the tank by the wire to avoid the clinking great durable products.

Great but not for my turtle
By Marytrev on Dec 19, 2020
This was a great price for the item but creates a very strong current inside the tank. My RES has a 60 gallon tank that’s about 60% full. My turtle can’t swim against the current lol. Great buy for huge tank owners.
