Description

Marineland Multi-Stage Canister Filter is designed with an effective 3-stage filtration system consisting of biological, chemical and mechanical filtration. The bio-filter balls are designed to grow the beneficial bacteria that are needed for biological filtration, and excel at removing toxic ammonia and nitrites. Unlike other canister filters, Marineland Multi-Stage Canister Filter has no bypass option, meaning that it only has the ability to produce clean water. The replaceable media slots provide the mechanical and chemical filtration, screening out dirt and debris while removing odors, discoloration and impurities. The 100% water-to-media contact ensures a crystal clear, healthy environment for your plants and marine life. This 3-stage, clean water-producing system will guarantee that your aquatic environment thrives to its highest ability.

Key Benefits
  • Allows the water to receive full-contact filtration with virtually no bypass so it can return to your aquarium as good as new.
  • Excellent three-stage filtration process maintains a crystal clear and healthy environment for fish to thrive in.
  • Durable, effective and long-lasting filter makes keeping an aquarium easier.
  • Provides fish, plants and coral with the clear, clean and safe water they need.
  • Effectively filters particulate and debris.

    Not worth the hassle

By Roger on Sep 6, 2021

It keeps the tank clean, but that’s its only perk. Impossible to open. One latch snapped in half trying to open it for cleaning. It is extremely heavy so moving it isn’t an option. Closing the lid takes brute force and full body weight. Don’t bother with this filter.

    C530 CANISTER FILTERS

By JERALD on May 27, 2021

I NOT SURE WHAT ALL THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS ARE ABOUT, BUT I HAVE 4 C530s ON A 180GAL REEF READY TANK AND I HAVE NO PROBLEMS. YES THEY ARE HARD TO OPEN BECAUSE OF THE CANISTER SEAL, BUT I HAVE LEARNED TO RELEASE THE LATCHES AND LIFT ON ONE SIDE TO BREAK THE SEAL, IT WILL OPEN. AS FAR AS THE LEAKS. IF THE BASKETS ARE NOT SEATED RIGHT, THE GAP IN THE LID WILL LEAK. THE PRESSURE FROM THE PUMP WILL CAUSE A LEAK. RESEAT AND TRY AGAIN. I CLEAN MY FILTERS EVERY 3 TO 6 MONTHS. I KNOW 4 FILTERS ARE A LITTLE OVER KILL BUT THATS JUST ME. I RECOMMEND THESE FILTERS TO ANYONE. AS LONG AS YOU SET IT UP RIGHT AND SEAT EACH BASKET IN LINE, YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. THANKS.

    Do not buy

By Josh on May 3, 2021

The only good thing about this filter is how effective it. It does a great job cleaning my tank (150g), but that's it. I dread the day when I have to clean it. It's almost impossible to open. So hard that I have broken the 2 latches on the lid even trying to be careful; thankfully it still closes and seals even with only two of the four latches. It's just as hard to close if you don't lather the o-ring with Vaseline so it seats properly and doesn't leak. I did a warranty exchange through Marineland (which went well, great customer service) and they sent me a new one but after the second time cleaning it the latches broke off the new one too. Very disappointed in the design and quality of this The only good thing about this filter is how effective it. It does a great job cleaning my tank (150g), but that's it. Powerful but loud for sound sensitive situations or people.

By Nativefish on Mar 10, 2021

This filter is well made, very large and powerful. Easily will support up to 150 gallon tank. With it being large also comes noise because of its impressive flow rate and size. If you are sound sensitive as I am, or it is going to be used in a TV room or living space you might not like this choice. Sound is loud hum that radiates through walls, stand or floors.

    Look for something better.

    By Djh59 on Apr 18, 2020

Bought this a few months ago. First month worked excellent. On my second cleaning it was a little tough to open for filter cleaning/carbon change. One of the handles snapped off. It still sealed fine and was not leaking so I continued to use it. Next cleaning the other handle snapped off. It still seals, but is now even harder to open. This is the second Marineland canister filter I have owned and they always seem to work good in the beginning, but loose power and cleaning ability even with regular cleanings and maintenance.
