He was starting to loose weight with CRF at play causing him eat way less (poor appetite and nausea/vomiting ) Initially I saw no change in a few days and the dose (2 clicks) seemed like it made him act 'off'. So I administered 1 click instead. That seems to be a good dose (13 + lbs cat). It's been over a month. The last week or so it seemed he was having return of symptoms so I am playing with adjusting the dose to ~ 1.5 clicks (max 2 clicks). While expensive, it seems to be helping so much. Weight is stable. It's a little tricky to get the gel to his ear because of ear hairs which tend to intercept it, so how you hold the wand, angle it, can make things easier.

Ease of use, quality of life

Shadow would fight with me to administer cerenia, hed spit the pill out of treats, avoid food that ever even had the flavor in it at all, and orally syringing it was causing some drama... This is imo the only reasonable way to give such a bitter medication to a taste sensitive kitty cat. Yes there is a price tag, however oral cerenia is only like, 90 cents a day cheaper. And honestly, the ease of use, and QoL improvement is astronomical considering that cost. Many of you buy coffee every day at a cafe, its a fraction of that price to help your family feel better, worth it 100%. Only downside is many vets dont know you can get this, so yes ask your vet about it lol. Compounding Rx should be more commonly known to the general public for stuff like this. I will say, that you should (per a phone call to the pharmacy) add additional mirtazapine to the other ear if this dosage is too low, but YMMV. All in all, recommended for anyone with a need for long term nausea care. Shadow definitely appreciated not having to get the "bitter water" anyway.

This stuff works!

The best for older cats that don't like pills. Works really well and doesn't bother the ear.

I ordered this expensive medication for my cat Malachi. Shortly after I placed the order, he began togo more fully into kidney failure. I made the decision to help him over the rainbow bridge this past Thursday. When I called to see if the medication could be returned, I was told that, as I expected, it could not be used. Butthe total amount for the cost of the medication was refunded to my credit card. This kind of kindness is unusual in our world today. I love your company and I really appreciate all the good you do in the world. Blessings and love, Malachi’s mom.

Effective & easy

The price tag is hard to swallow vs MUCH cheaper pill option, but it has been extremely effective and easy to dose every other day.

So far so good!

My 11 year old cat kidney disease and hasn't been eating or being very friendly which is against his nature and constantly licked his lips which is a sign of nausea

My 11 year old cat kidney disease and hasn't been eating or being very friendly which is against his nature and constantly licked his lips which is a sign of nausea. The first two days I didn't see much of a difference in his attitude or his attraction to food but on day 3 he was happy enough to eat 3 packets of his wet food along side his KD dry food. Today would be day 4 and he seems even better and to be getting back to being his old self though with this disease I don't think I'll ever get him to be 100% So much easier than the pills and it seems to be doing wonders!
