My chickens didn't seem to like them and normally they love meal worm treat they were soft and alot of broken pieces half a bags worth.

I like the fact that the Black Soldier Fly Larvae/mealworms are native to the United States. I used to purchase mealworms. They are more expensive and mostly native to the Mediterranean region. Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSFL) are native to the western hemisphere - and - offer more calcium than meal worms. The birds (and, interestingly, squirrels love them.
