Your neighing neighbor is going to love the ingredients used to make Medalist Sprout Pellets Complete Horse Feed! It doesn’t get much better than barley sprouts, alfalfa, oat hay and Timothy grass. The barley sprouts are a farmed feed that is processed into cubes within a day of harvest. And with 50% more energy than alfalfa hay, these pellets have vet-recommended optimal protein. It may even help reduce the risk of colic and founder because the barley sprout causes the energy sources to slowly release for easy digestion.

My horse LOVES his pellets. I soak them due to the heat and humidity right now in NC. He’s been eating these a month now and he looks great. I also offer hay and he is eating less hay and seems to feel satisfied . I’m transitioning slowly but hope to have his diet in winter to be with the pellets as hay quality is bad in winter and pasture is minimal. I also like that I don’t have to add all kinds of supplements. He’s a growing 3 yr old Gypsy Vanner. I’m keeping a watchful eye . A month is a little too soon to evaluate but so far , so good.
I Love these sprouts. I got them for my 29 year old quarter horse gelding and he Loves them. He started them about 4 months ago and he hasn’t looked this good in 2 years. I am so happy, thank you Chewy. If I ever have a problem with a delivery or damage to the product chewy is wonderful about returning them and delivering another.
My 25yr old Percheron loves his sprouts. If I've messed up his auto delivery date and he doesn't get his sprouts he will stand at the feed truck and pout. I swear if he could tap his hoof at me with impatience because I have not put his sprouts in his bowl yet, he would.
I was so excited to try these. My sister ordered me a bag.I have three horses and there are two others at the barn.I was so disappointed one horse that eats just about anything spit them out and the others ate a bit but left it and went back to their hay.I gave it three stars because they were nice and green and smelled good.Bit just something they didn’t care for.Pellets are very large too.
Tried the pellets for the first time today and our horses absolutely love them !! Our appy wouldn’t stop following us for more bites! Lol!!
I have 15 horses that have suffered abuse. Each and everyone of them love this feed. Thank you Chewey for carrying this product!
I don't think this is the fault of chewy but the bag arrived and had been badly torn and taped but obviously pellets had been spilled out. From the tag it looks as if it was delivered to someone else and sent back and then sent to me. With the high cost of feed, I don't think I'll purchase this type from chewy. I'd rather pick out and know what I'm getting.
When delivered the bag was ripped and taped, came without any extra packaging, just the bag. Was concerned I was not getting a full bag. I really wanted to see if my picky horses would eat this. They loved it! It was a win! Thank you Chewy for carrying this product. I have already ordered more.
I bought this bag over 6 months ago and it never molded at all even though I keep it in the barn in a plastic container in the northeast where the summers are quite humid. My horses love it and since I use positive reinforcement with treats these are a very affordable way to always have them handy, even when I forget to cut carrots. My horses both love them and do all sorts of tricks for the opportunity to have just 1 piece. I couldn't be happier with the product and hope it is back in stock soon since I am almost out! Perfectly sized pieces to be used as treats and so much more affordable! Imagine a 50 lb bag of treats for this price! And knowing it is made of grasses and legumes that horses are designed to eat makes me feel confident about giving them treats.
My 24yr old Morgan is a hard keeper and maintaining his weight on a lower NSC diet is sometimes difficult plus he’s not really food driven. I started giving him these pellets (about 5lbs daily), triple crown senior gold, and free choice teff/grass hay. After adding Medalist, I noticed he started putting on weight and getting shiny! He’s a picky eater but LOVES these pellets! They’re slightly bigger and fatter than your average commercial pellet but not super hard, easy to break apart and chew, which my horse likes. He is doing really well on this feed and I plan to keep him on it. The only draw back is chewy occasionally has this on back order so I make sure I buy several bags at a time when they are in stock.
