Description

Your neighing neighbor is going to love the ingredients used to make Medalist Sprout Pellets Complete Horse Feed! It doesn’t get much better than barley sprouts, alfalfa, oat hay and Timothy grass. The barley sprouts are a farmed feed that is processed into cubes within a day of harvest. And with 50% more energy than alfalfa hay, these pellets have vet-recommended optimal protein. It may even help reduce the risk of colic and founder because the barley sprout causes the energy sources to slowly release for easy digestion.

Key Benefits
  • The guaranteed analysis of optimal nutrient levels helps give the feed the right balance.
  • The production process uses less water than traditional farming, so it’s more sustainable.
  • No need to supplement with oats or other feed—this formula has everything your horses need!
  • Sprout pellets blend the stem and alfalfa leaves together.
  • Contains vet-recommended optimal protein.

Game changer for my senior gelding

By Nicole on Jun 22, 2021

My 24yr old Morgan is a hard keeper and maintaining his weight on a lower NSC diet is sometimes difficult plus he’s not really food driven. I started giving him these pellets (about 5lbs daily), triple crown senior gold, and free choice teff/grass hay. After adding Medalist, I noticed he started putting on weight and getting shiny! He’s a picky eater but LOVES these pellets! They’re slightly bigger and fatter than your average commercial pellet but not super hard, easy to break apart and chew, which my horse likes. He is doing really well on this feed and I plan to keep him on it. The only draw back is chewy occasionally has this on back order so I make sure I buy several bags at a time when My 24yr old Morgan is a hard keeper and maintaining his weight on a lower NSC diet is sometimes difficult plus he’s not really food driven. Life changing for my PSSM2 positive OTTB

By Tanya on Oct 29, 2020

“I own a 15 yo OTTB who requires just a little more than the average horse for nutrition. He is one of my endurance horses. He has battled with on again off again tying up, mental struggle, and muscle loss. So many owners are quick to say their horse has a bad attitude, is unwilling and stubborn. However, nutrition plays the biggest role in their overall mental and physical health. Sometimes the smallest nutritional change can make the biggest difference. Three weeks ago I purchased my first bag of Medalist Cubes to try in place of commercial grains. WOW!!!! What a difference!!! His Topline is filling in nicely, no issues of tying up and he mentally is willing and ready to work. I have been feeding as a sole forage 24/7 since March 2020 with zero added supplements or medication other than loose salt. I’m a forever customer. Thank you Medalist feeds!!!!!” - Tanya C. … more

    Not palatable

By Julie on Dec 26, 2020

I was really excited to try this feed for the quality ingredients and no added junk. Unfortunately my five horses didn't seem to like eating it and I even mixed it in with some rice bran and they still left a lot of the pellets. Maybe make more palatable??

    Awesome large pellets

By RalphGypsy on Nov 15, 2020

These are great, HUGE pellets. They make for great treats and they smell amazing. I give my Gypsy a small scoop with his ration balancer and it makes him chew and slow down.
