can cat use litter box with this on? What is the material? My cat scratches herself will this hold up to scratching?
Answer by ChewyJan 19, 2021
The cat pants have a larger tail opening so they can use the litter box without removal or opening of the suit (not for use with incontinence). You can always use a dog suit for a cat, which requires a smaller tail opening. Medipaw two-piece medical suits are machine washable and made of 95% cotton and 5% Lycra. It is designed to keep your pet from licking and scratching at their wounds or bandages so they can recover as fast as possible. Pet owners can decide if the Medipaw Protective Suit is suitable for their pet. Fortunately most animals accept it.

will this cover the surgical area for a male cat after neutering? a lot of suits don't go down far enough.
Answer by ChewyApr 04, 2021
The suit is designed to provide full protection. When pets need to “do their business,” owners can easily take the pants off, roll the shirt up the torso and put back on securely with the Velcro® when finished.

Will just the back section stay in place on its own?
Answer by ChewyDec 05, 2021
While the shirt can function by itself, the pants cannot be used alone. If your pet needs to wear the pants, they will need to secure it with the shirt for it to stay in place. Both pieces easily velcro together to secure it.

Is this suit made of relativity chew proof material?
Answer by ChewyJan 14, 2021
This suit is not chew proof.

Small size

We ordered the small for our cat. We followed the measurements given. When the suit came we realized it was sized for a newborn cat at best. Still seems like a decent product but not for a 6 month old petite cat, probably good for a toy cat.

Falsely advertised

I purchased this for my cat who has recently had surgery to repair his femur. As seen in the photo the cat has full leg coverage. What I received has little to no leg coverage at all and is very cheap material. Definitely not worth the 30 something dollars it was with shipping. Very disappointed.

Don’t even consider ordering this. might as well buy cat pajamas because they’re the same thickness. also sizes run EXTREMELY small

One Cat's Disaster

My 9-year-old Bengal being the Houdini of cones, I tried using this suit to ameliorate his excessive self grooming. It was an unmitigated disaster. The suit seemed to interfere with his proprioception, leaving him unable to move with any agility and prone to falls. The problem it was intended to solve being serious, I kept it on for 72 hours, during which he became increasingly miserable, howling continuously, refusing to eat or move, then eventually going comatose from exhaustion. (Before anyone becomes horrified, I made very sure there was no possibility it was causing pain.) This is of course just one person's experience with one cat. I mention it only so that others might understand that some cats simply can't tolerate this without trauma. For me, this solution proved worse than the problem it was intended to solve.

Fail for this product

The only good thing about ordering this is that chewy delivers so quickly. I will have to return though. I measured, but my cat was so compressed that he could not stand up or move. Poor guy. Also, I purchased this hoping it could replace his collar post- neutering. It wouldn’t have covered it though the way it’s designed.

Impossible for me to get on, and easy for her to get off

It took me blood-soaked minutes to get it on, and as soon as I turned my back, it was off. I bought two different sizes and had the same result. The two piece system did not work for me (and I used all the Velcro attachments as per instructions).

I bought one too small apparently and it didn’t really cover the part I wanted to right next to the tail.

Great pruduct

I ordered the wrong size but loved the product. Kirby I was told is a big girl, I always thought of her as a medium kitty! This product would have given me a lot of peace of mind when I had to leave her
